Hello and welcome!

Id like to personally thank each of you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to meet in
Washington and be a part of the inaugural Capital Region on Capitol Hill. Todays symposium
one that we hope will spawn an annual event here in the nations capital is aimed at building
upon the successes we have worked so hard to accomplish in our communities and invent
creative solutions to overcome the challenges before us.
I am thankful every day for the honor and privilege to represent New Yorks 20th Congressional
District in the U.S. House of Representatives. I am endlessly proud of our commitment to
innovation, our diverse economy, and our dedication to public service, and I enjoy taking the
models of success we have created in New York here to Washington in an attempt to make our
nation a better place.
We are delighted to have you and thank you again for traveling to join us for this special event.
We look forward to exchanging ideas, making plans for a 2nd annual event in 2016, and learning
how my office can better serve you both here in Washington and back home in New York.
