ROAD TO SUCCESS

Emily was the only girl in a humble family in London city. She had a brother who died of
cancer the year before and this incident left her devastated for a long time. He was not only
the most reliable person for her but also her older brother. Despite of that, she and her
family tried to continue with their lives. Her father was a great musician and her mother, a
school teacher that gave all of her every day.
Emily was an undergraduate high school student who wanted to study a Bachelor of
Science degree in Medicine in the University of Oxford but she couldnt afford it because
her parents barely earned the money needed for living well. She decided to choose this
career because her dream was to work on a cure for Cancer and for that reason; she wasnt
going to give up easily.
At the age of 15, she had started to work in a small pastry shop where she continued until
she graduated. She managed to save some money for her tuition but it wasnt enough so she
decided to apply for a scholarship. Although her parents were not agree with that, she
thought she had nothing to lose. Her parents advised her to choose a different career option
but she stuck to her guns.
She waited for 5 months until she received the response of the University. She was so
excited and her parents were too. She slowly opened up the envelope to get the letter and
started to read aloud. She was admitted. Emily was too pleased and so were her parents.
This was only the first step to go for her biggest dream.
Emily started the following week, she had a mix of nervous and anxiety feelings but she
moved forward. The first day was not what she expected. She met a girl, Caroline, who was

determined to make Emilys life a complete mess. Caroline was the daughter of an
important Minister, she was wealthy and could get everything she wanted. She had studied
in a well-known School in London and she took part in different Medical research in Africa
and South America, for everybody she was the perfect student and she knew Emily was
good too.
In the course of a year, Emily became an outstanding student and her grades were excellent,
she also joined a group research in which she made a significant contributive work. One of
her teachers encouraged her to take part in a group of scientists in Switzerland but she told
her teacher she felt she was not ready yet. Caroline heard about this and created a plan to
destroy her. She bought some cocaine and put it in Emilys purse without she even noticed
it, then she warned the dean of the faculty about it and the board of directors asked for
Emily and checked out her purse. They found the evidence. Although she tried to explain
that wasnt hers, it was all in vain. There was no proof to show she was telling the truth.
Emily was suspended until the academic board took a decision. There was a Carolines
friend, Tonny, who knew what actually happened and explained to the board directors the
situation. He said that the cocaine didnt belong to Emily and the person responsible for
that was Caroline. He also told them he had a video of her as evidence.
The board directors saw the video and determined that Emily was innocent and Caroline
was expelled. After a year of the incident, Emily continued her life at the University and a
year later, took part in the scientist group research in Switzerland.
