Field Day
It is hard to believe that our school year is
coming to an end. It is a tradition to celebrate field day at the end of each year.
Grades K-5 will par ticipate in their field
day on Friday, May 15th from 8:30-1:30.
There are some important things that you
can send with your child to ensure they
have a blast at Field Day.
I would like to ask you to send with your
child/children a water bottle and towel. It
is a good idea for the kids to have sunscreen applied before coming to school
during our last weeks because we have
several outdoor activities planned. I
would also like to ask you to be sure that
your child/children are wearing comfortable clothes and shoes.
Thank you and get ready to have some
fun!

Summer Reading
Summer shouldn't mean
taking a break from learning, especially reading.
There are several things
that parents can do to help their children gain reading skills and perform
better when school resumes in the fall.
One way is to join the summer reading
program at the local library. Hall County Public Library will have
their summer reading program beginning in June.
Other activities may include having your child
keep a daily journal, writing stories, or playing word games with
your child. Many childrens authors
have websites you can visit to find activities that center around favorite books. It
only takes a few minutes a day to help
students maintain their reading skills.

Have a great summer, and happy reading!
