Story CDs: Listening-centre activities can include listening to story CDs interspersed with activities related to the text.
Hot-seating: One pupil chooses to be a particular story character and sits in the 'hot seat'. The other pupils ask questions to discover
the identity of the character. This works well for all ages.

Listen with care: As learners listen, they should focus on what is being said. They should keep their eyes on the person
while she is talking. They should stay focused on what she is saying by formulating questions in their heads, such as
"What's the main point of this conversation?"

SPEAKING STRATEGIES
Presentations: Students should be given opportunities to present information in class. The teacher should hold an informal show and
tell day where everyone brings something from home to share with the class. Finally, the teacher should give his/her class notice so
they can prepare and practice ahead of time.
Group Interaction: To help his/her English language learning classroom enjoy practicing speaking in English, the teacher should use
interactive strategies to help them build fluency when speaking. It is a good strategy for teachers to spend time talking about students
favorite topics of interest and bring material about them to the classroom to generate a sharing of ideas among students.
Role Playing: The teacher should provide opportunities for their students to engage in role-playing to improve their speaking skills.
The teacher should remind students to think in English with the phrases they know would be polite in a situation. For example, set up
a mock restaurant with a table and chair and practice ordering in English, or set up a mock store to practice buying something.
Reading Strategies

learn to read a language by studying its vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure
learners read only sentences and paragraphs generated by textbook writers and instructors
looking for the meaning of unknown words to understand a text better

Asking to the students about what they wish to say rather than the form so that they can begin to think of themselves as
capable writers.

It is the teacher who has to guide students to prepare and present their own ideas for writing activating their prior knowledge
and experiences

The teacher assist them in planning and gathering information, according to the topic and type of writing
