PADRES MANAGER BUD BLACK:

On the Big First Inning
The first inning got him off to a bad start: a lot of pitches up, out over the plateCan hit a pretty good changeup down,
hes a good hitter. The backbreaker was the fastball that didnt quite get away from Seager. In this park, pull hitters lefthanded can do some damage.
On the Home Runs
Too many pitches up out over the plateyou look across the board when homers are hitits rare that a good pitch is hit
for a homer. It happensbut youll find that most homers are pitches up over the plate or youre behind in the count and
you challenge some hitters with some fastballsI think weve been in too many bad counts and [had] too many fastballs
and breaking balls out up over the plate.
