Todays Game: The Jackson Generals hosts the Biloxi Shuckers (Milwaukee) for the fourth contest of this
five-game homestand...Biloxi is in sole possession of first place in the Southern Leagues South Division while
Jackson is in fifth place in the North Division...Generals southpaw Jake Zokan will start against Shuckers lefty
Hobbs Johnson in the latest match-up between two left-handed pitchers.
Versus Biloxi:
Jackson earned an 8-3 win on Monday in the first meeting ever, but Biloxi holds a 2-1 lead
in this series after back-to-back wins...The Generals and the Shuckers are scheduled for 15 games in this years
season series...The Shuckers will host a five-game series from July 28 through August 1...Jackson hosts this current five-game series as well as another five-game set in late August...Last seasons series between Jackson and
the Huntsville Stars -- Biloxis predecessor -- ended with the Generals earning a slim 13-12 edge...Catcher Adam
Weisenburger hit .370 (17-for-46) with two doubles and four RBIs in 13 games against the Generals last season.
Jabari Blast:
Outfielder Jabari Blash had his power on full display on Wednesday...Blash went 4-for-5
against Biloxi while hitting two home runs (two-run drive in 2nd inning, grand slam in 9th inning), scoring twice,
and driving in seven total runs....He leads Jackson with four total homers this season despite playing in just eight
games with the Generals...Three of his four round-trippers have come at The Ballpark at Jackson, and all of them
occurred on School Days that featured early starts of 11:05 a.m...In addition to his long-range power, eight of
Blashs 10 hits have gone for extra bases, which includes four doubles along with his four homers.
Infielder Tyler Smith, the current Southern League Player of the Week,
recently had an eight-game hit streak and an 11-game on-base streak, but he has failed to reach safely over his
past 10 plate appearances...Smiths earlier streaks were good enough to earn Jacksons first weekly honor since
pitcher Victor Sanchez last July and the first weekly honor for a position player since Jabari Blash in August 2013...
His stats last week included 10-for-22 (.455) with four doubles and his first home run of the season to help Smith
nab Player of the Week accolades.
Generals catchers have made an impact from the end of the lineup,
especially over the previous games in this series...Steve Barons three-run triple in the second inning on Tuesday
gave the Miami, Florida native 12 runs batted in this season...Baron has batted exclusively from the last two spots
of the order (21 at No. 9, 2 at No. 8) and is hitting .314 (11-for-35) with men on base and .300 (6-for-20) with men
in scoring position...On Wednesday, Marcus Littlewood made his Double-A debut as Jacksons No. 9 hitter and
catcher...He went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and scored a run while also picking off a runner at first base.
Sinister Setup:
Jackson will face a left-handed starting pitcher for the third time this season, and the
Generals also has a southpaw on the mound to counter...The only other left-handers to start against Jackson were
Jacksonvilles Chipper Smith (April 11) and Pensacolas Wandy Peralta (May 4)...Meanwhile, Jackson has a leaguehigh seven southpaws on its active roster and its rotation is primarily stocked with left-handers as well.

Recap: 10 straight runs by Biloxi over the seventh and eighth innings were enough for the Shuckers to take a 14-10 victory
despite a big day for Jackson Generals right fielder Jabari Blash...The Shuckers had their first six batters in the seventh reach
safely and also had a streak of five straight hits in the eighth...Blash hit a two-run homer in the second and a grand slam in the
ninth for Jacksons first multi-homer game of 2015...He also posted new team individual highs with four hits and seven runs
batted in...All nine Biloxi starters recorded a least one hit, including a 4-for-6 performance by designated hitter Nick Ramirez
