Monday. Help us make it a success. See you there!

Update on Rose Brown

Im sure you will all be pleased to hear that Rose was released from
hospital on Monday and is now receiving the rest of her anti-biotics
from Arrowe Parks 'hospital at home team' and her treatment

should end this Monday coming. Doctors have been very impressed
with her progress and are hoping for it to continue. She is back to
her usual happy self and the family are all so happy to have her

home and on the road to recovery. The family would like to thank

everyone for their prayers, thoughts and good wishes - it has meant
a lot to them.

Reception Places for September 2015

Although we have been over-subscribed in reception for the past couple of years we still have a few

places available for this September 2015. If you know of anyone who might be interested in a place at
St Oswalds for September but for whatever reason didnt apply, please advise them that there are
spaces and that they can either apply online asap or contact the school office for further details.

Year 2 Mini-Kickers and Cross Country competition

The year 2 mini-kickers finally took place this week on Tuesday

at Overleigh St Marys primary school. Our team played really
well winning 5 and drawing 1 match before losing in the semi-

finals. Our team was Louie Adams, Charlie Barrett, Finlay Ehlen,
Noah Thompson, Oliver Roberts-Dodd, Jacob Pavel-Knox, and
Harry Jackson.

We were also well represented at the cross country tournament

this week. Well done to all the children who took part. They were
Harry Mason, Kai Grant, Ethan Challinor, Seren Brammer, Amelie
Marshall, Scarlett Nicholson, Hannah Williams, Ella McLean, Anna

Welland, Ben Thompson, Max Bullough, Emily Holroyd, Eleanor Bullough and a special mention to Jack
Barrett who came third in his race.

Health Week

The week after half term will be health week in school where we will be focusing on our SRE (Sex and
Relationships) curriculum and other health related topics such as e-safety and healthy eating. It was

good to see a number of parents in school on Wednesday afternoon to find out more. Please speak to
Mr Wallace or Mrs Spence if you have any further questions.

Class Structure for 2015-2016

Following feedback on the parent questionnaire, I am planning to send out details of the class

structures for next year shortly after the half term break. As always some year groups will be split,

this is an inevitable consequence of the size of our school and the fact that we only have 5 classes for
7 year groups. All decisions made by the school are final but please be assured that all children have
been discussed at length and decisions are made in the best interests of the children.
Forest School Days

One of the areas we are interested in developing at St Oswalds is

outdoor learning. As such I have organised a Forest School experience

for each class after half term. These will be led by Mrs Rachel

Macdonald, a highly experienced forest school teacher and will be an

exciting enrichment opportunity for the children. On a forest school

day children will need to wear their own old clothes, and bring wellies
and a waterproof coat. I will send more detailed information about
each day nearer the time but for now the dates are:

Robins - Thursday June 4

Wrens Monday June 8

Sparrows Monday June 29
