The Cavite Church Planting Project Update

New Church Plant/ Training

Center and Christian School

Imus, Cavite is about 2 hours from Manila. It has become a populated suburb where most
working people from Manila acquired housing facilities. The population grew much in the last
5 years. There is a need for more chur ches and Christian schools.
Because of the planting of more churches by less equipped pastors who has to address the
growing needs of planting churches, a growing demand for training and equipping workers
who are already in the ministry has become indispensible at this time.

As you can see in the google map, new subdivisions are everywhere and will keep on growing
as long as there are vacant lands available. With this development comes a demand for
churches, Christian schools and pastoral training center.
A huge vision such as the one we have will need a good team that will see to it that we can
cover all grounds for an effective church plant. One that will impact the city. Pastor Johnny
Gaco is a seasoned worker who handles leadership in one Christian organization. He is a
member of the Grace Christian Community School board. Pastor Johnny is a gifted
administrator. Pastor Joel Alfonso is a distant cousin of mine. His expertise is the small group
ministry and will do a lot of ground work. They have acknowledged my skill in the pulpit and
teaching and that will be my role. Our wives, Elma, Edna (Pastor Johnny) and Monique
(Pastor Joel) are very gifted and experienced ladies. All of us have moved to Cavite and have
acquired permanent individual
residences. The three of us
have known each other for
almost half of our lives.

We are praying for this site as the center of the

project we plan to put up. The lot is located at
the entrance of the subdivision and is closer to the main road but safe and quiet. The
neighborhood people came to see us and were happy to know of the plans. They like the
Christian school development very much.

Here are some of the schedule for the coming month:

September 5: Abut Cavite Church Planting mission team fellowship for updates and
Prayers.

September 8: Beginning of the series of studies in Old Testament survey at Christ

Commission Fellowship (CCF) where 6 White Fields will join plus other pastors who
have undergone STEP previously. They will join the rest of the workers of CCF.

October 12, 2009: First joint celebration of our contacts in the area. We hope to gather
100 people within the Cavite area together with representatives of our outreaches
(Paliparan, general Trias, Imus), Pastor Johnny’s Bible study groups and pastor Joel’s
Bible study group. We will hold it at the 2nd floor of a Food court (Jollibee) for three
hours. We pray that we will be able to strengthen the small groups of churches. We
pray that eventually the new cluster of new believers and members will formally be
on a regular worship service in the future.

Prayer Requests:

1. For the continuous momentum and the building up of interests among new members
and new contacts.
2. For the team to be guided in each step without going ahead of God’s plan.
3. For the acquisition of the 450 square meter lot about P2.3 Million ($49,000.) at
Richlane subdivision. That the Lord will gather together His people to take part of this
strategic project for the ministry of equipping pastors and workers, the modeling of a
church that emphasizes on Expository preaching and the development of a Christian
school.
4. For the Grace From Heaven CRC as I lead the leadership transition for one year before
I leave by December 2010.
