Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator with a long-standing company for the past 25-years. I was
responsible for all environmental matters, employee health and safety, as well as site security.
Overall responsibilities included, but were not limited to, the following:
Environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance (e.g. hazardous materials and wastes,
waste treatment operations and the disposing/discharging of the wastes thereof, hazardous waste
minimization/source reduction, storm water pollution prevention & monitoring, toxic emissions
inventory, chemical security, et al).
Develop, implement, and maintain regulatory and customer required plans, programs, procedures,
and rules.
Develop, implement, and maintain written test for corresponding EHS training.
Interface and coordinate with contractors, consultants, governmental agencies, and other outside
sources, (e.g. Environmental Protection Agencies, Department of Toxic Substances Control,
Occupational Safety & Health Administration, Health Departments, Air Pollution Control District,
Regional and State Water Boards, Department of Homeland Security, et al).
Conduct initial and annual employee environmental, health and safety training, or coordinate with
the appropriate outside sources thereof.
Complete and submit required regulatory reports, forms, surveys, and questionnaires.
Other responsibilities and duties include, but were not limited to, the following:
Chair monthly safety committee meetings; Oversee monthly hazard/safety inspections; Interface
with government agencies; Interface with worker’s compensation carriers; Interface with
emergency services; Interface with medical facilities; Emergency coordinator; Site safety officer;
Ensure annual hazardous waste sampling and analysis; Ensure annual air monitoring; Ensure
compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g. California Accidental Release Prevention, Risk
Management Prevention, Process Safety Management, Emissions Inventory, Toxic Chemical
Releases, et al); Apply for and manage regulatory permits; Ensure appropriate and timely payment
of EHS related regulatory fees; Ensure appropriate and timely payment of contractor and
consulting services fees; Ensure EHS corrective actions (per company and/or outside inspections
and audits); Ensure daily hazardous waste water treatment sampling and analysis; Ensure
customer environmental compliance. (e.g. ODC/S Elimination, RoHS, REACH, et al.); Workers
compensation intermediary.
