The Herbalist's Handbook
Leveling Herbalism
Leveling Herbalism takes a lot of time, but it can take less time with some help from this
guide. All the way from level 1 to level 450 you'll want to know where to go to effectively
level up. You can't just hang out in Elwynn Forest picking Peacebloom and reach level 450,
and you also don't want to head to Arathi Highlands at level 100 because most the herbs
there will be red.

I have ran several characters through Herbalism and have mastered this route, learned and
tested all the tricks and now it's time to share them with you. Once you've learned
Herbalism, make sure you're familiar with the Find Herbs ability that you now have. There is
a wrench looking icon on the top left of your minimap, by clicking it you can select 'Find
Herbs' and herbs will show up as yellow circles on your minimap.

The next trick is to use your 'Click to Move' interface option. Tap the Esc key while in the
game and your Options menu will popup. Select Interface, go to the Mouse option on the
left and to the right you'll see a box labeled Click-to-Move. Check this box. Now when you
click an area on the map your character will turn position and start running in that direction.
If you click on a herb that is off in the distance your character will run to it and pick it. This
greatly simplifies Herbalism.

Levels 1-75

To get started I have developed routes in all 8 of the starting areas. You can select any of
the below zones, remember right when you reach level 75 you will be unable to continue
leveling Herbalism until you visit a Herbalism Trainer to open up levels 75-150.

In each map below you can follow the map picking Silverleaf, Peacebloom, and eventually
Mageroyal until level 75.

Levels 75-150

After level 70 you can start collecting Briarthorn. Move to the northern area of The Barrens
or Westfall (The Barrens are amazing I recommend even Alliance consider going there).
Once you reach level 100 if you're in The Barrens start circling the southern section instead
of the northern section. If you're in Westfall head east to Duskwood. Until level 150 you'll be
collecting Briarthorn, Bruiseweed, Wild Steelbloom, Grave Moss, and Kingsblood.

Duskwood 100-150

Levels 150-170

Now it's time to head back to the trainer and open up levels 150-225. Alliance head to
Wetlands and Horde head to Hillsbrad Foothills and collect Briarthorn, Kingsblood, and
Liferoot.

Levels 170-225

These levels are very 'fun', there's really nothing to it, you just run this route around Arathi
Highland and stack on the levels. You'll find Wild Steelbloom, Bruiseweed, Fadeleaf,
Goldthorn, Liferoot, and Khadgar's Whiskers. There's no good reason to leave before level
225, there is no better place to be in Azeroth.

Levels 225-275

Once you've reached level 225 you can head back to the trainer to open up 225-300.
Afterwards head to Feralas, this is the best place to collect Sungrass, Goldthorn, and
Liferoot. Sungrass isn't available until level 230, so the first 5 levels might be slow but this
is still the best place to go.

Levels 275-300

Next you'll collect Dreamfoil and Plaguebloom in Western Plaguelands. You can't collect the
Plaguebloom until level 285 so you should go back and pick it all up once you hit it.

Levels 300-350

Head to the Outland Herbalism Trainer and learn Master Herbalism. Then head out into
Hellfire Peninsula and start gathering Felweed and Golden Sansam. I designed this route for
people who don't have a flying mount, but if you have one you can extend the route a little
by flying over the pools of Aggonar.

Levels 350-400

Now it's time to head to Northrend and learn Grand Master Herbalism. Once you have it,
head to either the Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra and collect Goldclover until level 400.

Levels 400-435

At level 400 it's time to head to Sholazar Basin to start collecting Adder's Tongue, Tiger Lily,
and more Goldclover until level 435.

Levels 435-450

Once you're level 435 you can start collecting Lichbloom and Icethorn, the two most
valuable herbs in Northrend. Here's my favorite farming route that crosses back and forth
from Icecrown to Storm Peaks with your epic flying mount. If you don't have any flying
mount you should stay in Sholazar until level 450.
