that...Revenge(Shakespeare99).TheJewishmoneylenderisavictimofonerous
ChristianabuseasaresultofthesocietalperceptionthatallJewsaresubhumaninfidels.
Oppressorspushthesubjugatedtoofar.Inequalitybreedssuchvehementdissension.The
resultantimpactofthediscordantsocietyisthediscontentitbreedsamongtheopressed,
unfairsocialboundaries,andegregiousstereotypes.Thevariousinequitiesofthe
Venetiancommunityincluderacialprejudice,antiSemitism,andgenderinequality.
Thosewhoarecontinuallyoppressedinanunequalsocietywillinevitablyattempt
togetthebetteroftheiroppressors.TheplaysmainconflictbetweenAntonioand

willstopatnothingtofollowtheletterofthelawsoastopunishAntonio.Portiaand
Nerissastrickeryregardingtheringstheygavetotheirhusbandsisalsoagoodexample.
