BATTLE SYSTEM
Soul on Top Volume VIII is a 5 vs. 5 b-boying battle. Each crew has
to be made of five b-boys or b-girls. Up to 32 crews will be able to
compete. The battle is strictly organized in a K.O. mode. There will
be no battles with three crews and no show battles. After each battle
the victorious crew will advance to the next round. The winner gets
CHF 1000 (one thousand Swiss Francs).

The crews to battle each other in the round of thirtytwo will be drawn
by chance in a two-stage process. In a first step the best eight
crews that have registered will be assigned by draw to a space in
the first, fourth, fifth, eighth, ninth, twelfth, thirteenth and sixteenth
battle. In a second step all the other crews that have registered will
be assigned by draw to the remaining spaces. The best eight crews
will be chosen by all the crews that participate at Soul on Top Volume VIII when they check-in at the Mainevent on Sunday. For that
purpose every crew will be able to choose the eight crews they think
will be the best of all the participating crews at Soul on Top Volume
VIII. The crews won't be able to choose their own crew. The eight
crews that are chosen the most often are the best eight crews to be
assigned in the first step of the draw. The crew that made the best
guess at which eight crews will be the best at Soul on Top Volume
VIII will win a cash-prize of CHF 100 (one hundred Swiss Francs)
for a crew meal in a restaurant.

The battle consists of five rounds: the round of thirtytwo, the round
of sixteen, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final. In
the round of thirtytwo, the round of sixteen and the quarter-finals
two battles will be held at the same time in two different circles. In
all the other rounds all battles will be held one after the other in the
main circle. In the round of thirtytwo, the round of sixteen and
the quarter-finals each battle will be judged by three judges. The

We dont organize or finance your trip to Soul on Top Volume VIII. We dont organize or
finance accommodation or food. Insurance coverage is your responsibility. We deny any
responsibility for injuries. B-boys and b-girls that participate at Soul on Top dont pay an
entry fee for the main event on Sunday. You are responsible for valid travel documentation. In case you need a visa to travel to Switzerland we may write you a letter of invitation. The judges' decisions have to be respected. Don't endanger the competing dancers. Each dancer has to withhold entering
the circle unless the competing dancer has
finished his round. Touching is not allowed
and may lead to disqualification.
