Learning Objectives
This course aims to provide you with an understanding
of synchronising the easYgen 2500 control system.
 Upon completion of this course learners will be able to;
 Navigate through the easYgen menus
View and reset alarms and shutdowns.
Make adjustments to the easYgen 2500 control system to
suit site conditions.
Understand what is required to achieve successful
synchronisation.
Read and understand easYgen control system electrical
diagrams.
Conduct synchronisation of gensets with easYgen
controllers and diagnose synchronisation issues.
Set up and adjust easYgen load sharing functions to suit
site conditions.
Connect and troubleshoot Autostart & Load Sharing
Communications.
Install service software and connect to an easYgen
controller to upload and download parameter files.

EasYgen - Introduction

The easYgen 2500 generator set control panel is primarily used for Island Mode (nonutility Paralleling) load sharing applications synchronising up to 16 generating sets
together.

The easYgen range of control panels

use a DC powered digital control
module to monitor, control and protect
the generator set.

EasYgen - Introduction

The easYgen control panel interacts with other generator set systems to enable the
monitoring and control required for the synchronisation process.

In addition to the easYgen panel the generator set requires the following to
synchronise:

A suitable electronic governor (Speed Control)

Motorized Breaker ( On the generator set or in the switchgear)
A suitable AVR
Droop CT kit

Control Panels easYgen Features

We will look at some of the features associated with the easYgen 2500 control panel.
These features can generally be grouped into three categories :

EasYgen Features

A special feature of the easYgen-2500 is the enhanced load sharing

system. This provides advanced generator load dependent start / stop
functionality with automatic generator set selection to ensure optimal
system efficiency.

Other features include:

Multi-level password protection.

Multiple communication protocols for communication with Engine Control Units
(ECUs), external I/O boards, PLCs and modems
Breaker control: synchronization, open-close control, only-open control, breaker
monitoring
Power and reactive power load sharing up to 16 units including load-dependent
start / stop
Multi master system instead of master-slave
Running hours balancing
Dead bus closure negotiation
PLC-like programming with Logics Manager
Operating hours / start / maintenance counters
Configurable trip levels / delays / alarm classes
Field configurable application settings
