Intermediatecomputercoursethatprovidesstudentswiththenecessaryknowledgeandtoolsto
modelcomputerandtelecommunicationsystems.Thiscourserequirespriorknowledgeofthe
basicconceptsofprobabilityandcalculus.Learningoutcome:studentswillbeabletocreate
modelsthatcapturetheperformancecharacteristicsofcomputersystemsandtelecommunication
networks,andstudythebehaviorofthesesystemsbycreatingsimulationprograms.
STUDENT OUTCOMES
Uponcompletionofthiscourse,studentswillbeabletocomprehendthecharacteristicsofa
stochasticprocessandidentifydifferenttypesofqueuingmodelsandtheperformanceofvarious
datalinklayerprotocols.Studentswillbeabletoestablishsystemandperformanceparameters
in order to study the behavior of computer systems and telecommunication networks using
