Results of Wards 7 & 8 Community Board calendar initial feedback

In May 2015, East Bank DC (eastbankdc.org) launched a new calendar by and for Wards
7 and 8 residents and stakeholders. The calendar as planned would include all events
open to the publiccivic, recreational, cultural, community, and more.
The calendar address is http://www.eastbankdc.org/community-board.html.
Several weeks into this new calendar, the co-managers of the calendar (@eastbankdc
and @susiecambria) wanted initial feedback from the online community. Here are the
results.
Twelve people responded. Of the 12, only two had looked at the calendar to see
what events were taking place.

One or more of the #eotr Yahoo Groups was the way most respondents heard about
the calendarand the survey.

The three most popular calendar posts respondents want to see are, in order, civic,
ANC, and government meetings. Other events of interest are events related to jobs,
DC history, for families, political, and businesses.

Suggestions for informing residents and providers/businesses about the calendar:

Share calendar updates in real time
Facebook groups and pages
Flyers distributed at community meetings
Information shared by councilmembersin newsletters, on Twitter, at meetings
Calendar update emails
Mailings
TV, cable
