Bank M to support the American Chamber of Commerce

to go all-out helping Tanzanian job seekers.

BANK M has announced today it will engage with The American Chamber of Commerce in Tanzania (AMCHAMTZ) to support Tanzanian job-seekers pursuing employment opportunities in the corporate world.
AMCHAM has organized a full day seminar called DARAJA LA MAFANIKIO (Bridge to Success), which will take
place on June 22nd of this year at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam. The seminar will focus on helping
Tanzanians strengthen their job-hunting skills and strategies and includes guidance by Human Resources
executives from some of Tanzanias largest and most respected corporations across a wide variety of sectors.
The seminar is expected to host 4,000 attendees including corporate professionals and recent college graduates.
AMCHAM-TZ Executive Director Mr. Richard Miles said Tanzania faces significant underemployment, especially
among youth and first-time job seekers. And yet, there remain over 112,000 job vacancies, according to data
from the National Bureau of Statistics. The DARAJA LA MAFANIKIO program is intended to help job-seekers find
and compete for those available jobs. Attendees will be provided tools including electronic templates for CVs,
cover letters, follow-up letters and more. There will also be an opportunity to interact with both corporations
and NGOs who offer additional guidance and further opportunities.
The main sponsors, Bank Ms Deputy CEO Jacqueline Woiso commented that This event is largely falling under
our CSR policy, Its our responsibility to support the community, especially in this valuable project because we
understand that the challenge of unemployment is among the major problems facing our country as of now. We
believe through this project a large number of Tanzanians will be in a better position to grasp employment
opportunities and overcome challenges in establishing their career path.
The seminar will conclude with a Panel Discussion made up of hiring professionals and HR managers working in
Tanzania, followed by a lively question and answer period where job seekers may ask direct questions to the
panel. There will be seating for 4,000 on a first come-first serve basis. Portions of the event will be made
available free on-line afterwards.
There will be sponsors attending promoting recruiting and placement services, coaching, volunteer opportunities
and others. The seminar is provided absolutely FREE to serious job-seekers looking for professional careers.
Participants must register in advance online through www.amcham-tz.com/daraja-reg.
DARAJA LA MAFANIKIO is part of AMCHAMs broader mission to improve the strength and vitality of the
private sector in Tanzania, working to ensure a long-term sustainable ecosystem for investment and growth,
helping to build a fair and transparent business environment, generating increased employment and improving
the wealth of the country.
