COMPETITION RULES

1. Players shall be eligible to play the age group they played in during the 2009/10 Season. Players can
ONLY register for one team per age group either A, B or C teams. Players can not play for another
team once they have been registered. If a player plays for more than one team during the competition
then the team that doesn’t have the player registered will automatically be disqualified from the
competition and all points earned/lost by opposing teams will be deemed void.
2. Each team shall name eight players, six of which will play and two substitutes. (NB five of whom will
play and three substitutes for U7s & U8s). A list of eight players must be handed in to the control
desk prior to the start of the competition. Substitutions are rolling and can therefore be made at
anytime during games.
3. A player being sent off, or receiving two bookings, shall take no further part in the Tournament and
the vacant place in the team cannot be filled by another player.
4. Each game consists
of two five minute
halves, except the
final which will be
seven minutes
each way.
5. In the knockout
stages, if the scores
are level at the end of
normal time, one
period of sudden
death extra time
shall be played up to a
maximum of three
minutes. If during this
time a team
scores, the game
shall end and the
team scoring the goal
will be declared the
winner. If neither
team score during
this time a penalty
shoot out will take
place to decide the
winner (only players
finishing
the game after extra
time will be able to
take part in the
penalty shoot out).
6. There will be no off
side.
7. When the goalkeeper has the ball in his hands he must return it to play by the way of an under or over
arm throw. If the goalkeeper kicks it from his hands then an indirect kick will be awarded to the other
team, to be taken from the edge of the area, nearest to where the offence took place. (Note: Rule 7
will not apply to the U7s and U8s. The goalkeeper CAN kick the ball from any goal kick from
his hands.)
8. When the referee awards a goal kick, the kick can be taken from anywhere inside the area by any
defending player. (Note: Rule 8 does not apply to the U7s and U8s. The goalkeeper can kick
the ball from his hands)
9. The pass back rule will apply to all age groups, except the U7s. From the dead ball situation, no
opposing player can stand within 5 yards of the ball before it is kicked.
10. Teams must be ready
when called upon or
risk losing the game
by a 2-0 score line.
11. All protests should be made in writing to the Tournament Committee within ten minutes of the end of
the game, accompanied by a fee of £10.00 which will be forfeited should the protest not be upheld.
12. Tournament referees
will be appointed by
the organisers and
their decision will be
final.
13. The first named team
should supply the
match ball to the
referee.
14. In the event of teams
colours clashing the
first named team
should wear an
alternative kit or use
their own club
bibs.
15. Each player should be able to show a form of ID with their date of birth if required to do so by the
Committee. Any team fielding an over-aged player will be disqualified and their results will be void.
