Cardproductionsoftwareformatsthetypesofdatausedtoprintcards.Make
surethatthecardproductionsoftwarefeaturesimplementedworkwiththe
printeryouhave.
Ifyoudonotusecardproductionsoftware,makesurethatthesoftwareyou
usesupportstherequirementsforcreatingcards.Ifyouusemagneticstripe
data,useanapplicationthatsavestextastextandnotasagraphic.(For
example,MSPaintonlysavesgraphicdata,whilePhotoshopsavesboth

Printerplugin
Cardproductionsoftwaremightrequireaprinterplugin,whichtakesthe
datainthecardproductionsoftwareandmakesitavailableintheformthe
drivercanuse.

AnIDorbadgesystemusuallyincludesacameratotakephotos,andmay
includeothercapturedevicesforbiometricdata.Usingandmaintainingthese
componentsisimportanttothequalityofcardsyouproduce.

Iftheprinterdoesnotpoweron,makesurethatthepowersourceis
functioningbydoingoneofthefollowing:
Removetheprinterpowercordfromtheoutletandconnectitto
anotheroutlet.
Removethepowercordfromtheprinterandconnectittoanother
device,suchasalight,andthenconnectittothesameoutlet.
Ifthepowersourceisfunctioning,thereisaproblemwiththeprinter.
Requestservicefortheprinter.

Troubleshooting
The card printer driver does not detect the networkconnected printer
Problem
Solution
Make sure that you are using the same type of data
cables USB or network that were used when
installing the printer. You cannot switch the type of
data cables after installing.
Make sure that the current printer IP Address is the
same as the IP Address on the Printer Properties >
Ports tab. For more information on retrieving the
printers IP address, refer to Retrieve the Printer IP
Address on page 14.
Solution
Make sure that you are using the same type of data
cables USB or network that were used when
installing the printer. You cannot switch the type of
data cables after installing.
Make sure that both ends of the data cable are
connected. Replace a defective USB cable if
needed.
