(1)Allama Iqbal
Allama Iqbal is our national poet. He was a great thinker. He was born in
Sialkot. He was born on November 9, 1877. He got his early education from Sialkot.
After his F.A. he went to Lahore. He joined Govt. College Lahore. He did M.A. from
there. Then he went abroad for higher studies. Then he came back to India. He was
interested in poetry. He wrote many poems. His poetry is a message of hope. He
gave us the idea of Pakistan. He did not live long. He died on April 21, 1938.

(2) My Best Friend

Ali is my best friend. He is of my age. He lives near my house. He is my class

fellow. We go for a walk in the morning. We go to school together. Ali is a very good
boy. He stands first in the class. He helps the other boys. He is also a good player.
He respects his teachers. His teachers like him. His parents are proud of him. I also
love him.

(3) A Table
I have a table. It is a nice table. It is made of wood. It has four legs. It is five feet
long. It is three feet wide. It is also three feet high. I sit at it and do my homework.
My brother and sister also sit at it. I help them in their studies. I keep it with care. I
bought it from the bazaar. Its price is Rs. 5000. I like it much.

(4) My School

I read in Govt. High School. It is outside the village. The main road passes by it.
My school has a grand building. It has 20 classrooms, four labs, a library and two
offices. All the rooms are airy and well lighted. The school is fitted with electricity.
There are many grassy plots. There are beds of flowers in these plots. The flowers
look beautiful. There is a playground. We play in it in the break. There are 30
teachers. They are all able. They show good results. In fact my school is very good. I
love it.

(5) My Best Teacher

Ahmad is my best teacher. He is a young man of 30. He is such a nice person. He
wears a simple dress. He comes to school on time. He is very regular. He teaches us
English and Math. He is teacher incharge of our class. He teaches us with love and
care. His method of teaching is very good. His class always shows good results. All
the students like him.

(6) A Visit To Zoo

It was Sunday. We had a holiday. It was a fine day. So we decided to visit the
zoo. We had never been to the zoo. So we were very excited. We reached there by
taxi. We bought tickets. Then we went in. First of all we saw some monkeys. They
were very funny. We liked them. Then we saw an elephant. There were bears, lions,
tigers, wolves, jackals and foxes. They were kept in big cages. Then we saw stags,
deer and rabbits. There were birds of many kinds. They looked very beautiful. There
were still a number of animals to be seen but we were tired. So we came back early.

(7) The School Peon

Aslam is our school peon. He is a young man of 25. He is active and smart. He
is very honest. So he does his duty honestly. He always comes to school on time. He

sits outside the Headmaster, s office. He takes orders from the office and conveys to
the teachers and students. He rings the bell on time. He has to work very hard. His
pay is small. He is a good fellow. All the teachers and boys like him.

(8) Morning Walk

Morning walk is useful for health. So I go for a morning walk daily. I go to a
park. This park is near my house. In the morning there are many people in the park.
They also take a walk. Some take exercise and some run in the park. There are
many trees in this park. The birds fly and sing songs. Some people walk on the
grass. I also walk there for some time. Then I come back. I get ready for school. I go
to school on foot. I remain active the whole day.

(9) My Hobby

Different people like different hobbies. I like gardening. It is a cheap hobby. It

is very useful. I spend a few rupees on it. But I get fresh vegetables. I have a large
house. There is a vast lawn in my house. I have made a bed in it. I prepare the land.
Then I buy some seeds. I sow these seeds in the bed. The plants grow. I water them
on time. I look after them. I also grow flowers. They look very beautiful. My parents
like my hobby. My friends are also happy to see my little bed.

(10) An Accident
It was Sunday. I had a holiday. I needed some books. So I decided to go to the
market. I took out my bicycle. I was going when I saw a car coming at full speed. It
was coming straight to me. I tried to avoid it but in vain. My bicycle ran into the car.
I was thrown a side. My head began to bleed. Someone took me to the hospital. The
doctor dressed my wound. Soon my parents reached the hospital. They thanked
God that my wound was not serious. The car driver was sent to jail.

(11) A Hockey Match

Last Sunday a hockey match was played on our school ground. It was between
The Moon Club and The Star Club. Both the teams were strong. We went early to
see the match. The two teams came to the ground. The refree blew his whistle. And
the match started on time. The players played very well. In the 12 th minute The
Moon club scored a goal. In reply The Star Club tried hard but they could not score a
goal. After the 1st half the match restarted. Now The Star Club was able to score a
goal. The match was level now. The people were clapping and shouting. At last the
match ended in a draw. But it was an exciting match.
