Objective: Simulate to be an effective trader at Electronic


Trade Exchange (ETF) , that is to be a wise and well informed
trader.
Background: You are given some capital to trade on the
underlying option security. Show your skills , knowledge &
perspective in real life interactive on line paper trading for a
month period.
YOUR TASK: BE A TRADER USING THINKORSWIM PLATFORM FOR
EXCHANGED TRADED FUND (ETF)

1. Research into ETF gold (gld) , S&P 500 (spy), Dow Jones Industrial
Average (DIA) , Emerging markets (EEM) , why they are attractive in
these volatile markets today in USA. (500 words)
2. Evaluate the importance of set up and trade direction either bullish
(call) or bearish (put) option trading . Ensure the trade set up is above
200 daily moving average(dma) and 50 daily moving average chart (500
words)
3. Evaluate the importance of risk management profile before placing
your orders on spy, dia, gld or eem. Show your monitoring and P&L
Summary (500 words)
4. Use paper trade to evaluate your maximum profit and factor in the
spread vs the cost of trade for about a month. (500 words)
5. Critically evaluate your learning outcome after about a month of paper
trading exercises.(1000 words)

This assignment, which carries 30 % of the total marks


for the module, is compulsory for candidates attending
the LUCT MBA programme.
The general assessment criteria are Substance,
Originality of work, Presentation, Use of illustrations /
examples, where appropriate and will be assessed
based on the illustrated grading scheme.

Independent research on the relevant topics is


necessary and students are to support their opinion(s)
with references.

In order for you to conduct an effective literature


review, a minimum number of references for the whole
report are 25 references, preferably from peerreviewed journals and articles.

Include the journals and articles as an appendix in your


individual main report.

Special consideration would be given to individual who


demonstrate an in-depth analysis of the task.

Individual who simply regurgitate their answers from


sources may risk getting a poor mark and may risk
failing the paper if outright plagiarism is detected.

The presentation format should be following the latest

stock markets in view of the todays debt crisis in Europe & its
impact on USA & Asia Region .
