Have you ever done something so extreme, that youve actually risked your life
for it maybe? If so, why did you do it? Maybe to prove a point, but to who? Many
people actually feel like they must make that impact in the world and prove a
point to everyone else about being able to accomplish something maybe no one
else could. It seems like a way to get attention possibly. Everyday, daring people
all over the world are participating in extreme sports like adventure racing, bullfighting, in-line skating, bungee jumping, snow boarding and skateboarding. All of
these sports involve a serious risk, and thats why they are called Extreme
Sports.
Adventure racing (also called expedition racing) is a combination of two or
moreendurance disciplines, including orienteering (if an orienteering map is used)
and/ornavigation (when non-orienteering maps are used), cross-country running, mountain
biking, paddling and climbing and related rope skills. An expedition event can span ten days or
more while sprints can be completed in a matter of hours.
Bullfighting ] is a traditional spectacle of Spain, Portugal, southern France and some Hispanic
American countries (Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela andPeru),[2] in which one or
more bulls are fought in a bullring. Although ablood sport, by definition, some followers of the
spectacle prefer to view it as a 'fine art' and not a sport,[3] as there are no elements of
competition in the proceedings.
Inline skating is a sport practiced widely internationally. Inline skates typically have 2 to
5 polyurethane wheels, arranged in a single line, although 5 wheel designs are no longer
manufactured. The in-line design allows for greater speed than roller skatesand better
maneuverability.
Bungee jumping is an activity that involves jumping from a tall structure while
connected to a large elastic cord. The tall structure is usually a fixed object, such as a
building, bridge or crane
