Professional Experience:
2009 - Present Prosolia Inc. R & D chemist
• Develop and optimize method (full scan, SRM, MRM) to analyze samples with DESI-
MS (LTQ, TSQ):
 Perform wet chemistry assays by MS within GLP environment.
 Analyze solid samples and preparing sample solutions to analyze on glass slide.
 Extract ganglioside from tissue and analyzing the extraction using coupled DESI-
MS (LTQ) mass spectrometry and thin-layer chromatography (TLC).
 Analyze drug metabolism in CYP human liver microsome by DESI-MS (TSQ)
mass spectrometry.
 Image:
➢ Cut different thickness tissues (rat brain, gland and liver) with a cryostat
at -22 °C and thawing the tissue section on a glass slide.
➢ Scan the image of tissue section in full scan and MSMS mode with
DESI-LTQ to distinguish between cancerous and non-cancerous tissue
samples using multiple marker lipids and to measure the distributions of
drugs and their metabolites in tissue.
➢ Convert the data to image using Firefly and Biomap software.
• Analyze data, and submit written report to the director weekly.
• Publish research notes on company’s website.
• Maintain instrument.
• Classify chemicals, update inventory and dispose waste (chemicals and biohazards).

Purdue University, Indianapolis

• Synthesize peptides and compounds with DNA binding activity using solid-phase
chemistry.
• Develop methods to purify synthesized compounds using chromatography like HPLC and
Flash Column (2 years).
• Develop methods to verify compounds by instrumental analysis such as LC-MS (3
years), GC, IR and NMR. Use UV-Vis to quantitate concentration of peptides and DNA,
obtain λmax and calculate extinction coefficient of new compounds.
• Confirm binding affinity and selectivity of compounds to DNA by High Throughput
(HT) - Fluorescence Intercalate Displacement (FID) Assay to find potential anti-cancer
drugs.
• Maintain appropriate inventories of all laboratory materials. All of the operations follow
GLP operations.
Professor Fangming Miao’s Lab, Chemistry Department, Tianjin Normal
University
• Synthesize metal alcoholates using solution-phase chemistry.
• Culture crystals of compounds.
• Determine crystal structure of compounds by x-ray diffraction.

Teaching Experiences:
• Teach undergraduate Organic Chemistry Lab as a TA.
• Guide undergraduate’s research.
