Dear Parents,

MESSAGE OF THE WEEK

Attached is a parent questionnaire which is simple and quick to complete. Your answers and comments are much
appreciated and do much to suggest improvement for the school in the future. All completed questionnaires can be
posted in the secure boxes found around the school or can be handed into the main office.
PTA CAMP NIGHT SATURDAY 4

TH

JULY

th

Camp Night is approaching on the 4 July but presently the number of pitches booked is very low. I expect that many
of us are keeping an eye on the weather forecast before making a decision to camp or not. If the weather is right, this
is a lovely family event with the availability for approximately 50 pitches. Children must come accompanied with a
responsible adult. Please see the attached information for further details and choices for food. Breakfast will be
served from 8am from the famous Ellens Grill van! We shall make a decision as to whether this event should go
ahead next Wednesday. This will be based upon the number of bookings for food and tent pitches. We should also
have a very good idea by then of the weather forecast. Looking forward to seeing you there!
We would love volunteers for very light duties. These include: supervision of the disco, bouncy castle, sweet and
refreshment stall sales, leading a camp fire song!! Please let us know at the office if you are able to help.
UNIFORM ORDER
Please find attached an order form for our uniform. If you wish to purchase uniform for now, or the new school year
please complete the form and return it to the school office by Friday 10th July with the money enclosed in an
envelope. Alternatively you may go directly to the shop on Bamber Bridge Football grounds.
PTFA 100 CLUB! 1 PER MONTH FOR ENTRY - PLEASE JOIN!
PLEASE JOIN IN WITH THIS! In order to raise money for our pool, we would like to invite every parent to join our 100
Club. At the end of each month, starting next September, we will hold a draw and lucky winners will receive cash
prizes. The more members of our community that enter this, the larger the prizes we are able to give out to our
winners. This fun initiative is to raise money for a sustained pool improvement programme and offer prize monies
to lucky parents and grandparents who wish to join in! Please see the attached form for further information.
BOREATTON PARK Y6
Children in Year 6 attending Boreatton Park this Friday will need to bring their bags into the Junior Hall at the start of
the day. If the weather is set to be dry, we will place these outside on the KS2 playground by the hall entrance. Please
ensure all purses/wallets, cameras and any medication required is named and given to an adult in the morning of our
departure. The parental consent/medication form should also be completed and delivered to Mr Shields. We will be
departing at 1pm promptly if any parents wish to say their goodbyes before we leave. Please ensure that all electronic
devices and mobile phones are left at home so as to save them from loss and damage. I can assure the children that
their visit will be far more enjoyable and memorable without them.
DONATION OF TOILETRIES FOR MOLDOVA
In the summer holidays Mrs Galland is visiting Moldova to work alongside a charity called Stellas Voice
(www.stellasvoice.org.uk).The charity works with orphaned children, from infants through to young adults, and as part
of their fund raising efforts, wants to fill a truck full of desperately needed toiletries to take to Moldova before
th
summer. If you would like to donate any toiletry items please hand them into the office before Friday 17 July.

Examples: toothpaste, toothbrush, facial wipes, sanitary wear, moisturising cream, hand sanitizer, soap, hair brush,
comb, shampoo, deodorant, shower gel, hair clips, hair bands.
Also if you have any spare buttons lying around at home they would be gratefully received, as we are decorating tote
bags with the children as part of a craft workshop.
HOME READING BOOKS
We have invested in a huge number of new home-school reading books. These are colour coded, slim reading books
which are fun to read and enjoyed by many of our children to help ensure rapid reading progress. I do hope your
children enjoy using them; however I am aware that a number of existing books are possibly in our childrens homes
still. If you should see any, please could you send them back to school as they are a very expensive resource. This
would be very much appreciated, thank you.
LUNCHTIME STAFF VACANT POST AVAILABLE
I would like to advertise a vacant post available from next September if there are any interested parents who would
like to apply. This position will be Monday to Friday 12.30-1.30pm. If you would like to apply for this role, please
th
contact the main office for an application form. Deadline for applications is Friday 26 June.
