The Doctor strode out of the cafe, and was swiftly followed by Clara. He gripped the door
handle to the TARDIS and gave it a gentle push, the doors opening in the wrong way, as they
had always done. He was about to close the door, when he noticed Clara.
"Doctor..." She quivered. The doctor tried to speak, but his lips were quivering too much.
"Goodbye, Clara. Goodbye, my impossible girl," he began to close the door.
"Doctor. Remember this. Travelling with you... It made me feel special. Thank you!" The
doctor looked into Clara's eyes.
"Thank you for exactly the same," he replied hastily, before shutting the door and starting the
TARDIS engines. He slept for hours in that day. He had dreams. Dreams of an impossible
girl. Knock, knock. The doctor tried to waft away the sounds with his hands like they were
flies. Then he heard it again. Knock, knock.
"Doctor? Are you in there?" Came a voice from outside. "You know it can't end like that,
don't you?!" Knock, knock. The doctor abruptly awoke and sprang out of the TARDIS seat.
"She's not alright you know, and neither are you! We need to get this sorted!" The doors
opened and snow blew into the TARDIS. A rather fat man, dressed in red stood in the
doorway. "Now, stop gawping, and tell me! What do you want for Christmas?" The doctor
raised an eyebrow...

*Doctor Who Titles with a Frost theme*

"How can you be here?! Who even are you?!" The doctor asked. The man, calling himself
"Santa Claus" frowned.
"Who do you think I am?! I'm Father Christmas!" He replied. The doctor looked confused.
"Listen, you can't just come into the TARDIS like this, its breaking and entering!" He angrily
stated. Santa tutted.
"I entered, but I didn't break anything, did I?" The doctor looked around, hoping he could
think of something clever to say.
"Well..." He stuttered. Santa shushed him.
"Now then. Where did you leave her?" He asked, peering over his glasses strictly.
"Who?" The doctor asked, even though he knew perfectly well, who he meant. Santa sighed.
"Clara, Clara Oswald! We need to sort this! Did you know she lied?!" The doctor frowned.
"About what?" He inquired. Santa sighed once again.
"Old Rupert!" He said, almost triumphantly.
The doctor frowned. "Who's Rupert?" He asked.

Santa sighed and growled, then looked puzzled.

"Oh yes!" He changed that name, didn't he? Err... Danny Pink!" Santa said looking at a list
titled "Naughty and Nice"
"What do you mean? She lied about Danny... Oh no... She can't have!" The doctor said,
looking shocked and annoyed. "But... I thought he sent himself back with the bracelet!" The
doctor stuttered.
Santa winced.
"No, he sent someone else back..." Santa grimaced. He muttered a few words. "That didn't go
well either..." The doctor pushed on.
"What didn't? Who did he send back?!" But Santa had already gone. The reindeers had taken
him away, flying over the sky, to the roof of Clara Oswald's house, six months since her
departure from the doctor, and on Christmas night.

Chapter One - Clara's Surprise

"You're real... I mean, you're actually here..." Clara stuttered. She had been woken by a large
crash in her roof and had spotted the fat man standing on it, with a couple of reindeers, and
two small looking men. Her dressing gown blew in the wind along with her hair, as she
double blinked in shock.
"Of course I'm here! How do you think those presents got under the tree every year? By
magic?!" Santa replied in a mocking tone. Clara frowned and looked the strange men up and
down.
"I thought... I thought it was my-" she stuttered once more.
"MUM AND DAD" the elves chorused in perfect harmony, finishing her sentence. The first
elf shook his head.
"So for no reason, on one night of the year, your parents, out of the blue, just decide to give
you a massive pile of presents?!" The other elf tutted. Santa looked annoyed. Quickly, he
changed the subject, and once again got out the "Naughty and nice list" Clara double blinked
again.
"Right then, Clara Oswald. Favours science kits, though strict ban on hair products. Stopped
believing at nine years old! Why did you stop?!" He asked angrily. Clara looked at him in
disbelief.
"Because youre a fairy-tale! I stopped believing in fairy tales!" She stated, raising her voice,
triumphantly. Santa sighed and put his hands on his hips,
"But did you Clara? Did you really?" He questioned. The sounds of the TARDIS engines
began to whir. Clara must have been dreaming. She pinched herself, but then the doors
opened. And there was the doctor. The doctor looked at Clara, and then at Santa.
"No, Clara you most certainly did not stop believing in fairy tales! You wanted to see Robin
Hood for God sake!"

Chapter Two - Santa and the Doctor

The doctor looked at Clara, and Clara looked confused. The doctor approached Clara slowly,
his hand stretched out to grab hers.
"Yes, Clara its me, and I am most definitely here!" He told her, knowing what she was going
to say. Clara just gawped.
"Doctor... Why are you here?!" She asked angrily. The doctor sighed, shook his head, and
clenched his fists.
"Why did you lie?! Anyway.... No asking questions! I want you to do exactly what I say, and
just walk into the TARDIS, sit down and don't ask anymore stupid questions!" He ordered.
Clara walked slowly, as if in a trance towards the TARDIS. Clara turned around and began to
question the doctor.
"Why am I doing this?" She asked, with a little smirk. The doctor winced.
"I said ask no questions! Are you one of the pudding brains?" He asked, tauntingly. With that,
Clara slammed the door and sat down inside the TARDIS, sighing at how foolish she was.
Meanwhile outside the TARDIS, Santa and his elves were just sitting and watching the drama
unfold. The doctor approached Santa, cautiously, but menacingly. He clenched his fists once
again.
"I know exactly what's going on here! And I know exactly what's at stake!" He shouted. Santa
smirked and the elves smirked even more.
"Oh, doctor I don't think you do! But I swear to you, when this Christmas night is done, you
will be glad of my help!" He taunted, shaking his finger.
"Make room for a tangerine!" The elves giggled. The doctor gripped the TARDIS handles,
and opened the door. Then he turned back. "Nobody likes the tangerines!" He shouted back.
The TARDIS dematerialised, and the elves giggled once more, and Santa looked
disapprovingly.
"Well it's true!" They giggled.

Chapter Three - Picking up the Pieces

The Doctor stared at the tardis controls and occasionally pressed a few buttons. Clara just
stored around the TARDIS, the bottom of her dressing gown, dragging across the floor. The
doctor fiddled underneath the TARDIS and grabbed a hammer, hitting the TARDIS button.
Clara winced and gave him a funny look, while tracing her fingers across the TARDIS rails.
"So Err... What's being going on with you?" She asked, awkwardly. The doctor raised both of
his "attack" eyebrows. Clara looked confused. The doctor angrily pulled the lever on the
TARDIS down, and gave the console a kick.
"What exactly is wrong with you?" She asked, curiously. The doctor kicked the bottom of the
console once more.

"Doctor, seriously!" She asked, becoming increasingly irritated. The doctor gave the TARDIS
or last kick and then answered.
"I am being quiet" he stuttered simply. Clara frowned.
"Why? What did I do?" She asked. The doctor gave her a menacing look.
"You LIED! Twice!" He shouted in a sudden outburst of rage. Clara frowned, but somehow
she thought she knew what he was talking about.
"How are you and Danny?" He asked tauntingly. Clara opened her mouth as if to speak, but
stuttered.
"Fine! Great, and... There's something... Something I need to tell you..." She stuttered,
looking afraid. The doctor shook his head and clenched his firsts, biting at the air.
"Oh I bet you have!" He added angrily. Clara began to speak but was interrupted.
"Sometimes I miss rose, and Amy, and Martha, and Donna and that stupid Jack Harkness!
Sometimes aliens are easier to deal with than humans! Wish I was on Gallifrey... He
muttered.
Now it was Clara's turn to look confused.
"Well just go to Gallifrey and leave me alone!" She shouted. The doctor took a deep breath.
"You did find it didn't you?" She added. The doctor gritted his teeth.

Chapter Four - TARDIS vs Sleigh

A loud crack echoed throughout the TARDIS. A large bell sounded, and the doctor shook his
hands around, wildly and madly.
"I'm having flashbacks! This is like just after my regeneration! When Gallifrey was stuck in a
pocket universe, where it still is!" The doctor shouted. Clara muttered something along the
lines of "I'm out of here" then exited briskly... And was caught by a flying sleigh.
"Clara!" The doctor shouted, running towards the open doors. Santa was sitting in the back
seat triumphantly and was pressing large buttons on his sleigh carriage.
"Magnificent things, robotic reindeers!" He shouted, as "Rudolph" the reindeers LED nose
glowed bright red. The elves giggled.
"Oh stop blushing Rudolph!" They giggled. Santa muttered "last warning!" And pressed a red
button. The elves heads fell forwards, revealing robotic wires beneath their prosthetic skin.
The doctor ran back to the TARDIS console and turned up the engines to match the speed of
the sleigh.
"I used to think Santa was a time lord you known! With his bigger on the inside sack of
presents, and his TARDIS like sleigh! But that was before I knew! Before I knew that Santa
isnt real! So, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that you are a fake, Mr Claus" he shouted
triumphantly. Clara looked smug, while settling down on the back of a reindeer. Santa

pressed another button on the sleigh, and a gun shot out of the back seat. He caught it and
pointed it at the doctor. "I am an alien hunter, based in the North Pole! Delivering presents is
the perfect distraction for fighting aliens! Christmas night they all come out to fight! But if I
am correct, doctor, you are an alien! But I'm not hunting you! Oh no, you're much more
useful"

Chapter Five - The Adoption

The doctor stirred the cocoa gently and handed a cup to Santa and Clara. He still didn't know
whether to trust Santa but was prepared to let him into the TARDIS and listen. As long as he
got Clara to safety first.
"Excuse me, but I need to run a very quick errand first..." Whimpered the doctor as he
viciously pulled down the TARDIS lever. The TARDIS landed with a soft thump and the
doors opened. "Go on Clara. Plod on back home" he ordered, making a pointing gesture with
his hand. Clara looked at him. "Doctor... There's something you need to know..." She
trembled. The doctor frowned and looked at Santa. "I think... I think I know what youre
talking about" the doctor answered gingerly, placing his hands over his eyes like a weeping
angel. Clara returned to the TARDIS. "No, doctor I really don't think you do!" She answered
back. The doctor gasped. "Who's he?" He asked, looking baffled. Clara gulped. There was a
small boy sitting next to Clara on the snow littered floor, peeking inside the TARDIS gently.
He was dressed in para as with little trains printed on them. Clara took a deep breath.
"Danny.... Danny didn't send himself back with the bracelet... I think you... Might have
guessed that by now. But the thing is... When he was out at war... He..." She cut herself off
and stifled a cry. "What did he do?" The doctor asked, for once sympathetically, fearing the
worst.
"He... Accidentally... Killed this boy... In a bomb strike" Clara stuttered. The doctor gasped.
He ran his hands over his eyes and wiped them on his coat. Clara was shocked. Had the
doctor began to cry then? "So Presumably Danny wants you to take him home?" The doctor
asked. Santa chipped in. "Remember doctor, I did tell you this didn't go well either..." He
winced. The doctor gritted his teeth. "Clara, my Clara what have you done?!" He asked
furiously. Clara gritted her teeth. "This boy... This child... His names Rupert. And he... He's
my son" she gasped.

Chapter Six - Danny's Last Wish

The Doctor laughed. Clara looked angry, and Santa winced, waiting for the fireworks.
"You... You can't be serious...You can't keep him! You're denying Danny his last wish!" Clara
laughed this time angrily.
"Don't talk to me, about Danny's last wish!!! If I hadn't have met you, I wouldn't have been
on the phone to Danny to tell him about our travels, and then... Then" she stopped and wiped
her eyes.

"Maybe he would have crossed that road safety!" She finished, teary eyed. The doctor had his
mouth wide open in shock.
"You can't seriously..." He stopped arguing and clicked his fingers, the doors closing behind
him. He leaned on the TARDIS console and looked at Santa. It was now Santas turn to look
shocked.
"It still can't end like that! She's not alright yet is she? And neither are YOU!" He taunted.
The doctor sighed.
"As long as I'm in her life she is NEVER going to be alright!" He argued back. Santa sighed
and clenched his fists.
"Without you, what is she going to do? Sit their moping around about old Rupert? She needs
cheering up! And from what I've heard about you, you cheer people up!" He conceded,
eventually acknowledging the doctor was a good person deep down. At that, the doctor also
conceded.
"This base... In the North Pole... What's there?" He asked. Santa smiled.
"I was wondering when you were going to ask that! Well, there's elves working to track
aliens, elves building presents to distract every person on earth with, while I protect them
from aliens!" The doctor frowned.
"Still not getting it... Why do you need me?" He asked, being modest for a change.
Santa winced and his face darkened.
"After all these years of fighting off monsters and aliens... Perhaps... Oh, I don't know?
Maybe they've... Stumbled across my base by now?" He announced, insultingly.

Chapter Seven - The Base

Santa flung open the TARDIS doors and covered his chin with his suit.
"It can get a bit nippy out here! Bring a coat!" He ordered. The doctor emerged from the
TARDIS wearing a slightly longer and thicker variation of his normal outfit, which looked
like he'd rushed to sow extra layers into. He looked around and noticed hordes of elves
pushing trolleys full of presents and weapons across halls, and a huge dome, with a huge
sleigh sitting on the top like a helicopter on a Heli-pad. The doctor beckoned to Santa.
"Come back to the TARDIS, I need to know something?" He asked. Santa stepped back
inside and closed one of the doors.
"How do you do it?" The doctor asked, like an excited child. Santa frowned and then laughed,
understanding the doctor. Santa put his hands in his pockets. "Well it was easy really! All we
do is, we use... Well... Some technology we found... To make the sleigh bigger... On the
inside!" He announced, wincing.
"You've been leeching power off my TARDIS!" The doctor exclaimed, open mouthed. Santa
winced and his mouth widened.

"That's the thing! If you help me vanquish these aliens, we will repay you all your lost
energy! If not, well... Make room for a tangerine!" Santa announced. The doctor could not
believe it. This was blackmail! The doctor sighed and moaned, but then gave in.
"Oh alright! You'd better keep your side of the deal..." He threatened. Santa punched the air.
"Thank you! It's true what they say isn't it? You really are the gift that keeps on giving!" The
doctor looked angry.
"I hope you weren't being sarcastic there!" He answered back. Santa took out some pictures
from his velvet pockets.
"So then. Here are your aliens doctor!" He announced. The doctor could still not believe it.
He was looking at a fleet of unarmoured ice warriors...
"So Are you up to it or not?!" Santa asked tauntingly. The doctor really rather wasn't, but
wanted to prove Santa wrong, and get his TARDIS energy back.
"Of course!" He stepped out of the TARDIS. "It's Christmas! The North Pole! Aliens! Who
you gonna call?!"

Chapter Eight - The Scientist and the Medic

The doctor was greeted by a scientist, who looked like he hadn't washed for months, wearing
a small sheep-skin coat, who was busying himself with lots of computer monitors, all linked
together with complicated connections.
"And... Here's one I made earlier!" The scientist announced, brandishing a small vial of
vaccination, which he thought would sedate the ice warriors. The doctor reached out and
snatched the bottle. He tipped it upside down, and sideways examining it from every possible
angle.
"Oh... This is all very good. But how, exactly are you going to administer this?" The doctor
asked, confused. The scientist was about to speak out when he was interrupted by the doctor.
"You know who you remind me of! One of my previous selves, and you know who he
reminded me of... A CLOWN!" The doctor taunted.
"Hit the nail on the head there you did!" Said a woman, who had just entered the room. She
was dressed in black navy uniform, with a Red Cross on her shirt.
"Hello, I'm the medic!" She greeted, excitedly. The doctor reached out and shook her
extended hand, warily.
"What does a North Pole base need with a medic?" The doctor asked, once again looking
confused. The woman smiled and waved her hands around.
"Well, its Christmas isn't it? Someone's bound to get hurt, or aliens are bound to turn up!
Great big spaceships over London, Giant Stars made out of spider webs, boats falling out of
the sky! Planet earth, I tell you, it will be the death of Mr Claus! Or St. Nicholas, depending
on what country you're in!" The doctor was open mouthed.

"I was there... I was at all those events! And I saved earth at all of them!" He shouted,
proudly.
The woman laughed.
"Oh of course. Mr Claus has been looking for you for a long time!" She comforted. Suddenly,
a loud alarm sounded. The woman raised a finger.
"That will be the battle alarm! Troops! Attention!" She commanded. Two women entered the
room. One was a young girl wearing head gear, with a few bits of ginger hair poking from
underneath, the other loading her gun and pointing it at the door.
"TROOPS! Take aim!" She commanded. The doctor pleaded.
"PLEASE... NO! The ice warriors... They... They can be pleaded with... Anyone can change!
I promise you! They have no armour, they are under advanced. You can't attack them! They
are defenceless!" The doctor shouted. The woman still wasn't listening.
"Hit the nail on the head perfectly again doctor! That's exactly the idea!"

Chapter Nine - Blood Shed

The women raised arms, and fired at the oncoming ice warriors. A couple fell, but the women
soon gave in, and ran for shelter under the tables. The scientist stepped forward.
"We are sorry! Truly we are!" He reached for the vaccine behind his back.
"We promise... We can help-" the warrior grabbed the injection and the scientist ran
backwards.
"DOCTOR! Help me-" he was cut off as the warrior injected him with the injection. He fell
backwards and dropped to the floor.
"Sorry Mr Clown... Your circus act has failed!" The doctor stood forward.
"Hello there! Slimy aliens from the North Pole! Thank you for giving me the perfect excuse!"
The warrior opened its mouth, saliva dripping from the jaws.
"What excuse?" The alien growled.
"The perfect excuse... To do this!!" The doctor shouted, and whipped out his sonic
screwdriver, shooting two ice warriors with its laser beam, the beam passing through their
unarmoured skin. The two girls emerged from underneath the table and shot at three ice
warriors. Two fell, but one prised the guns from the dead warriors arms and shot the two
soldiers.
"NO!" The doctor shouted. Santa ran into the room, armed with only a tangerine.
"This... This is a bomb!!!" He winked at the doctor. The ice warriors froze.
The doctor nodded. "Ooh yes... That's the most terrible bomb ever... He whispered
menacingly. The ice warrior tilted its head to the side.
"You are bluffing!" He growled.

"You see... That's where you are wrong! This destroys the eye of harmony in his TARDIS!
Sending this whole base to hell!" He shouted. The doctor looked angry.
"Very funny! I tried that with a Jammie dodger-" he was interrupted as Santa kicked him in
the shins softly.
"This confirms our suspicions. You are bluffing" the warriors raised their hands to shoot the
doctor and Santa. The doctor just smiled.
"Ha! You see, Santa, tangerines actually do make good weapons... When you posted me that
one last year, I dipped it into... Well... Some radioactive space material... In the hope that I
could give it back to you one day, as you know pay back! But, now I know, he is not the real
enemy. You are the enemy! You are the monsters! Or, at least that is the part you are
determined to play! And do you know what that makes me? I mean, us!" He shouted,
triumphantly, looking at Santa.
"THE MEN WHO STOP THE MONSTERS!!" They shouted in perfect unison, throwing the
tangerine at the ice warriors, their bodies wrinkling and falling to the ground.

Chapter Ten - Danny's Gift

"Doctor, I'm sorry I lied. Really I am. But... But I think I might have found a way to fix all of
this. The family... I took the boy, back to his family. And the parents... They took it
surprisingly well... Gave him a new Middle name..." The doctor looked up.
"No... They didn't?" He asked in disbelief. Clara nodded and Santa chuckled.
"Yes... Yes indeed" he chuckled, still looking at his naughty list.
'He's been a very good boy this year, good old Danny" the doctor gasped. Clara smiled
proudly.
"That's right. They called him Danny. And who knows? Maybe one day, he'll have a son. And
he'll call it... Orson?" She wondered, cheekily. The doctor laughed. Santa looked perplexed.
"As I was saying... He's been a good boy... Perhaps we should give him a present..." Clara
looked at the doctor.
"It would be my pleasure" the doctor said warmly.
Ten minutes later, Danny and the doctor, were both standing outside of the TARDIS, Danny
holding some pictures of when the doctor had taken him to space...
The doctor walked up to Clara.
"I'm... I'm sorry I lied too. I thought... I thought it would make ends meet if I lied..." He
comforted. Clara smiled.
"It... It doesn't matter. Maybe, you know. We will find Gallifrey" she wondered.
"We?" The doctor asked in disbelief. Clara smiled and opened the TARDIS doors.

"Yes, We. Both of us" she reassured, stepping inside. The doctor followed her. Santa smiled
and clicked his fingers teleporting away, as Danny ran back inside to his house, before his
parents noticed.
"Are you sure?" The doctor asked. Clara nodded.
"Wouldn't have it any other way!" She smiled. And, still in her dressing gown, she turned the
TARDIS dial and off they went, sailing off across the stars...
