Statement of Work

POS ITION:

M AINTENANCE CLERK

REPORTS TO :

GENERAL SERVICES MANAGER

WORKWEEK:

40 HOUR WORKWEEK

Position Summary: The Maintenance Clerk serves as a general laborer for the GSM. S/he assists in
arranging space for Peace Corps' supplies, including proper maintenance of storage-rooms. S/he also
assists in moving, installation and breakdown of office automation and furniture, especially during any
office renovation/construction projects. In addition, the Maintenance Clerk supports cleaning staff in
keeping office and work area in good order on a daily basis. S/he has primary responsibility for
packaging, addressing, mailing, storing and picking up mail addressed to the Peace Corps.
Major Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Keeps an up to date to-do list to assist in prioritizing tasks and insuring that all tasks are
completed in a timely manner, which include but not limit to, an inventory list of items removed
and replaced, and submit such list to GSM per occurrence.
Assists Mail Clerk in enveloping documents and in mailing out of such documents. Assists mail
clerk in packing, carrying and storing packages. Responsible for packaging, addressing, mailing,
storing and picking up mail addressed to the Peace Corps.
Assists in making copies of documentation and business-related errands, as requested.
Serves as back-up for telephone coverage.
Moves office furniture to proper storage during office projects. This may require un-assembling
and reassembling of cabinets and shelves.
Packs and unpacks office and training supplies, and proper storage of same.
Assists General Services Manager in identifying out-of-order equipment, purchase of parts and
basic repairs if capable. This includes touch-up paint on walls and doors; adding nails to walls for
hanging frames; replacing burned-out fuse and light bulbs; and other basic carpentry as needed,
and if capable.
Replenishes distilled water; copier machine paper, bathrooms supplies; and ensures the proper
disposal of waste.
Support to Peace Corps staff during site visits events, Pre-Service Training, conferences, etc.
Acts as back-up driver as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Safety and Security
Support all activities carried out by post during an emergency.
Bring up safety and security related concerns or issues immediately to SSC and/or CD as
recognized through GSM and DMO.
Participate in Posts Safety and Security training events. Understands role in Posts EAP.
Respect and abide by Peace Corps/Posts confidentiality / sensitive information policies. Abide
by Posts policy concerning restricted office areas.
Take personal responsibility for visiting guests.

Immediately communicates Volunteer safety and security and issues to the Safety and Security
Manager (SSM) and CD. Knowledgeable and supportive of Peace Corps safety and security
policies and procedures, including the timely reporting of suspicious incidents, person or articles.

Travel Outside of Country


The Contractor is subject to worldwide availability and may be requested by the Peace Corps to be
reassigned or transferred permanently to another Peace Corps Post/Headquarters or perform temporary
duties (TDY) as required and to travel to other assignments within Peace Corps medical systems and
others as assigned. Any such reassignment or transfer shall be subject to agreement of the Contractor.
Occasional Money Handler
The PSC may be required to courier cash and/or purchase orders to various vendors who furnish supplies
and/or services to PST/IST training site, or other locations as directed by the Contracting Officer. The
PSC may also be required to courier cash to PC trainees or volunteers. The PSC will not be functioning as
a procurement or disbursing official but will only be acting as an intermediary between the Contracting or
Disbursing Officer and the recipient. In the case of dealing with vendors, the PSC will not exercise any
procurement discretion concerning the supplies or services to be purchased or the cost limits of these
purchases; these will be determined by the Contracting Officer.
Qualifications
Graduate of Mattayom 3 (grade 9).
Be able to lift object weighed at least 50 kg.
Understand and be conscious about safety pre-cautions.
Possession of basic English proficiency is a plus, but not necessary.
Must have good attitude and open-mindedness in working within multi-cultural environment.
Must exhibit good judgment, courtesy, tact and the proper protocol when interacting with
Volunteers, vendors, visitors and other members of the public.
