matched a career-high by tossing 8.0 innings on Saturday night in Biloxis
4-1 win over Jacksonville Saturday. The Shuckers are 19-games over .500
for the first time this season. Are 19-games over .500 for the first time.
Lopez matched a season-high (4 times) with 8 strikeouts and tossed 8.0
innings (3rd time, last 6/26/14), matching a career high, earning his 6thstraight win on the mound. Lopez lost the shutout by allowing a solo home
run in the top of the eighth inning with one out.
RF Michael Reed had an RBI double in the first, 2B Nathan Orf, an RBI
triple in the second and 1B Nick Ramirez a 2-run HR in the third, providing
the offense. SS Orlando Arcia had a second inning double, extending his
hitting streak to 6 games.
Rehabbing Marlins starter Jose Fernandez suffered the loss, allowing 4
runs on 6 hits over 5.0 innings, striking out 8 and walking 2. Suns pitching
retired the final 16 Biloxi batters faced.
RHP Damien Magnifico earned his team-leading 8th save with a scoreless ninth.

THE BILOXI 10 BREAK SL ALL-STAR GAME RECORD: Despite the
9-0 loss the South Division suffered to the North Division on Tuesday night
in Montgomery, the Shuckers made history with 10 participants in the game.
Relievers RHP Austin Ross (2/3 IP, 2SO), RHP Damien Magnifico (1/3 IP,
3R, 4H, SO) and 80% of the starting rotation, RHP Brooks Hall (2/3 IP, 2
SO), LHP Hobbs Johnson (2/3 IP, BB), RHP Jorge Lopez (IP, 2H, R, BB,
2SO) and RHP Tyler Wagner (IP, 2H). Position players SS Orlando Arcia
(0x3, BB), LF Michael Reed (0x2), 1B Nick Ramirez, 0x3, BB), C Adam
Weisenburger (1x1) all played in Tuesdays game at Riverwalk Stadium.
The 12 total selections tied the 2011 Tennessee Smokies for most since Division vs. Division formatting began in 1999. The 10 participating is the most
in this format (previous 8 in 11 by TNS). RHP Jaye Chapman and OF Kyle
Wren were selected, but have been promoted to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
MGM PARK MAGIC: For the third time in 9 games at MGM Park, the
Shuckers walked-off with an extra-inning victory on on 6/20. Biloxi defeated Mobile 6-5 on a walk-off single by Nick Shaw scoring Brent Suter
in the 14th inning on June 6 in the MGM Park Opener. Then, back-to-back
walk-offs 6/19 and 6/20 on a Taylor Green single in the 10th scoring Michael Reed on 6/19 and Victor Roaches solo homer in the 15th on 6/20.
THE CARDIAC CLAMS: Saturdays 1-0 victory over Montgomery Saturday improved the Cardiac Clams to 16-5 in 1-run games this season. The

BILOXI BASEBALL HISTORY: Pro baseball is not totally new to the Gulf Coast, but it is the first since 1908. The
Gulfport-Biloxi Sand Crabs of the Cotton States League played half a season in Biloxi during the summer of 1908.
Many Major League and som Minor League teams held spring traing in the area. Even the 1920 Milwaukee Brewers
of the American Association (direct descendant of the current Brewers) trained in Gulfport. See below.

Todays Start: 23-year-old lefty Hobbs Johnson makes his 13th start of the 2015 season. The North
Carolina alum has recorded just one quality start this season, but Biloxi has gone 8-5 in his starts.
Last Outing: The lefty could not make it out of the fourth against the Montgomery Biscuits on June 18,
suffering an 11-5 loss. The 23-year-old allowed seven runs - five earned - on four hits, five walks and three
strikeouts in just 3.1 innings.
vs. Jacksonville: Johnson has had success against the Suns this season, going 1-0 with an ERA of
1.80 in two starts. Through 10 innings, the southpaw has allowed just two runs on five hits to go along with
three walks and eight strikeouts while holding the Suns to a .147 average.
2015: The lefty allowed 4 runs - 3 earned - over 6.1 innings over spring training, adding 3 walks and 2
strikeouts... Named Southern League midseason All-Star.
2014: Was among the Florida State League leaders in opponent batting average (2nd, .221),
wins (T3rd, 12), ERA (4th, 2.93) and innings pitched (4th, 147.2).
2013: Split his first pro season between Rookie Helena and Class-A Wisconsin, posting a combined 0.86
ERA in 11 relief appearances (21 IP, 32 SO).

COACHING STAFF
Subero, 42, begins his second season in the Brewers organization as manager at the Double-A level. Subero led the Huntsville Managing Career
Team
Stars to a 77-63 record and a postseason berth last season.
GCL Rangers
Prior to joining the Brewers, Subero managed five seasons in
the Dodgers organization at Class-A Inland Empire (2009), Double-A Chattanooga (2010-12) and Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
(2013). He led the Lookouts to the playoffs in 2011 after clinching
the Southern Leagues second-half North Division title with a 4227 record after the All-Star break.
During his only season as a manager in the White Sox organization, Subero led Double-A
Birmingham to a 74-63 record and a Southern League playoff berth in 2008.
Subero began his coaching career in the Rangers organization, including two seasons as
hitting coach with the Rookie Gulf Coast League Rangers (1999-2000) and seven seasons
as manager with the GCL Rangers (2001-02), Class-A Clinton (2003-05) and Class-A Bakersfield (2006-07). His clubs reached the postseason in each of his three seasons with Clinton. Subero owns a 798-849 (.485) record over 13 seasons as a
minor-league manager.
