Survey Methodology
Details of the population surveyed
The survey was conducted by Taylor & Francis Communications Department.
Librarians were invited to complete the survey in emails distributed via Library List Servers and sent directly to
Taylor & Francis library customers and leads from conferences and telemarketing campaigns.
Responses
Emails were sent to various distribution lists inviting librarians to complete the survey:

42% of survey respondents are planning to improve their end-user interfaces for their library website (48% have
already implemented this)
35% plan to improve their cataloging systems (38% have already implemented this)
32% of survey respondents plan to conduct user research to understand their users needs and/or requirements
(40% have already undertaken this)
To explore these responses further, we hope you will take several minutes to complete some follow-up survey questions.
The results of the below survey will be compiled into a presentation in which Taylor & Francis and George Washington
University Libraries will co-present at the 33rd Annual Charleston Conference, on November 9, 2013. Taylor & Francis will
share the presentation on our website following the Conference. Additionally, survey results will be placed online, and we
will email you once they are available.
Please note, any comments you make in the survey will be kept anonymous. Any respondent who completes the survey
on the day it is released will be entered in a drawing to win a $50 USD Amazon Gift card. 5 winners will be selected.
