Gibraltar Summer Sports 2015
The Gibraltar Sports & Leisure Authority (GSLA) organise the Summer Sports & Leisure Programme (the programme)
for the children and young people of Gibraltar. The major Sponsor for this programme is NatWest.
Sports Train.
A programme of sport, leisure, fitness, fun and interactive activities for children between
the ages of 7 and 14 years, running weekday mornings between 10am and 12.30pm. No need to book just
turn up.
Childrens Corner.
A programme of fun sporting activities for children aged 5 and 6 years, running
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10am to 12.30pm. No need to book just turn up.

Monday to Friday 9.30am to 1pm. Referrals taken in liaison with St Martins Special School.
Family Fun Sports Evening Tuesday evenings 7.30 to 10pm from 28th July to 26th August at the
Bayside Sports Centre. A programme of sporting activities for all the family, youngsters, mums, dads and
grandparents. Badminton, Table Tennis, Carpet Bowls, Darts, Climbing, Pilates, Paddle Tennis and Boccia.
No need to book just turn up.

7 & 8 year olds. A great course for building confidence and developing organisational skills. Limited places,

Train, Childrens Corner, Family Fun Nights, 12+ Beach activities and Junior Sports
Leadership Award are all organised directly by the GSLA and are completely free of charge, with the
exception of the Junior Sports Leadership Award, there is no need to book as youngsters can just turn up. All
equipment unless stated will be provided.

Sea Angling

An exciting summer camp filled with drills and skills, tactics and competition running from Mon 17 to Fri 21 August, between
10am and 1pm. A great way for beginners aged 8 to 12 years of age to play this exciting sport and for transitioning players to

Cheerleading
Gibraltar Cheerleading Association will be offering a myriad of Cheer workshops on Thurs 9am to 1pm during the summer
programme (July and August). Workshops covering Pom dance, Street cheer, Stunting and Gymnastics are for girls aged 5 yrs 12yrs. Sports clothing plus trainers to be worn and a drink/snack brought to the workshops.

Climbing
The Gibraltar Climbing Association will be organising Introduction to climbing sessions for young people 8 to 13 years. Each
session will comprise of 2 x 2 hours sessions held on Tues & Thurs 10am to 12noon at the Bayside Sports Centre Climbing Wall.
Children must wear trainers or outdoor shoes, a hat and sun bloc and bring along a bottle of water.

Introduction to High Fives Netball, Fundamentals of movement and ball skills with Gibraltar Netball Association guest netball
Coaches. For the first time in many summers netball is on the agenda for juniors, it will be fast and fun. Gibraltar Netball
Association organises a massive domestic programme of leagues and competitions for juniors and seniors and participates on
the international stage at all age groups, they also have an excellent Umpire Development Programme. So whether you are one
of Gibraltar Netball Associations up and coming stars or whether you want to be an international Umpire, this summer camp is

The Mediterranean
Rowing Club is organising Summer Rowing Camps to introduce Rowing to children aged 12-16

If you would like to try out this fantastic Martial Arts, which consists of patterns, sparring and self-defence, please

Gibraltar Triathlon Association will be organising a week of taster sessions for young people between the ages of 10 and 14

and the transitions between the disciplines will all form part of the taster session. At the end of the week the Gibraltar Triathlon

atmosphere that balances learning with fun, engaging all senses and stimulating enthusiasm for learning. All workshops are age
related and encourage children to 'discover through experiences and explorations. Such as in 'Fun In The Sun!', where children
record environmental sounds, collect natural resources from the local beach, make instruments, write, produce and record a
song based on their findings.
