The month of July is always so much fun! Summer weather

has usually kicked in, as well as everyones summer routine.
Then theres Independence Day!! Family gatherings, picnics,
festivals and fireworks!! We are such a blessed country! We
have so much to celebrate and be proud of!
Our Chamber growth is something to be proud of as well.
People are realizing the benefits of joining a strong Chamber in the community. Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce has experienced strong, steady
growth this year. Raise your hand up, and pat yourself on the back!! Our
strength lies in our members. Our pride is in YOU. Without YOU, the members, where would we be?? I think we all know the answer.
So, did any of you take my advice to get involved last month? Did you set a
goal to attend at least one event in June? Why, you ask? For YOUR sake!
All the activities this Chamber plans are with YOU in mind. They are all
opportunities to network. They are all designed with our members in mind.

The Eyes to the Skies Festival is the highlight of the

year for Lisle. It amazes me how a volunteer
committee can put together such a memorable event
year after year. This committee meets every month
during the year and spends a lot of time with each and
every detail from the carnival, the fireworks, the chilJill Eidukas
drens area, the food vendors, the music, and the Hot
Executive Director
Air Balloons. If you have never been to the Eyes to the
Skies Festival you must attend; especially at dusk to see these balloons
glow. You can avoid the lines and buy your tickets online at
www.eyestotheskies.org.
Congratulations to Mayor Joseph Broda who accepted the 2015 Mayor
the Year award at the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference this
past May.
Also, congratulations Sister Carolyn Sieg of St Joan of Arc Parish and
School. She has retired after 50 years as Principal. We wish her well in
her next chapter in life.
Did you know that the Village of Lisle was named the 10th Best Place to
start a business, from San Francisco based consumer financial research
group NERDWALLET. They analyzed over 285 towns a with
population of 5,000 or more.
Dont miss the 4th of July Parade on Main Street in Downtown Lisle at
11:00 am. The parade starts at the Lisle Junior High School. Children
12 years old and younger may bring their decorated bikes for judging
before the parade and then be in the parade. There will be an ice cream
social held on the grounds of Lisle Station Park.
Enjoy your summer!

MULTI-CHAMBER PROGRESSIVE LUNCHEON

On June 9, 2015, Darien, Hinsdale, Lisle,
Lemont, and Westmont Chambers met for a
Multi-Chamber Progressive Luncheon. Members WDCB, Public Radio, College of DuPage
and Illinois Spina Bifeda Association were table
sponsors at this event. This event was a great
opportunity to network with other local Chamber members. We are looking forward to seeing
you at the next Multi-Chamber Progressive
Luncheon with Chamber 630, Hinsdale.
Ron Horak of WDCB Public Radio College of DuPage

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHTGeorge Goyette

MULTI-CHAMBER PROGRESSIVE LUNCHEON
George Goyette has been an Ambassador and a Lisle Area Chamber member for the past three
years. George is the owner and president of Newport Promotions of DuPage, Inc. He has been
in this field for the last twenty-five years. George has also been a volunteer for the Lisle Ale
Fest, Spring Sprint, and Turkey Trot. He is a member of the Board of Directors and in 2014 he
was the winner of the Annual Dancing with the Chamber Stars.
He graduated from DePaul University with a MBA in Accounting and he also has a CPA.
George has been married to his wife, Nancy, for forty-nine years and they have 4 daughters and
10 grandchildren. They also have a golden retriever named Gracie. George and Nancy enjoy
Ballroom Dancing and traveling the world. He is active with the Sunrise Rotary Club of Naperville and St. Margaret
Mary Parish, Naperville. George also volunteers his time as Board member and Treasurer of the Hobson Villas
Homeowners Association. During the 100 year anniversary of the Eastland disaster, he has made several public speaking
presentations on the disaster since his father, grandfather, and his uncle Charlie were on the ship when it capsized.
Sadly, his Uncle Charlie, who was 16 years old, died in the horrible tragedy.
George enjoys being an Ambassador for the Chamber because he is able to make new members feel welcome and is
able to educate them on the benefits of being a Chamber member. His approach to being an Ambassador is to engage the
new members on a regular basis and personally invite them to upcoming events and activities. By doing this, they are
able to develop a mutual friendship. When the new members attend the events, he has the opportunity to introduce them
to another Chamber member, especially members that would be a potential business match for them. He is also a greeter
at many of the Chamber events. It has given him the opportunity to meet many members he might not otherwise get to
know. It also allows greater exposure to the membership population for his company, Newport Promotions. George has
said that the Ambassadors of the Lisle Area Chamber are a fantastic group of professional individuals that are dedicated
to insuring the success of their business. He tries to live his life by the quote from Mother Teresa. Let no one ever
come to you without leaving better and happier.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS

Country Inn & Suites by Carlson hosted a Business After Hours
event at their location in Naperville. It was a nice event that was
catered with great food and they raffled off a free night stay at
their hotel. The hotel which is located at 1837 Centre Point Circle, Naperville, is a great location that can host an event or a nice
place for out of town guests to stay. They have an indoor pool, a
beautiful courtyard, nice rooms, and a shuttle that can bring you
to the Lisle and Naperville area. Keep them in mind for that next
out of town guest . (630) 505-3353.

Carlson and Jill Eidukas, Executive Director of
the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce

ILLINOIS ENERGY WINDOWS & SIDING, INC. RIBBON CUTTING

Illinois Energy Windows & Siding, Inc. hosted
their Grand Opening at their store in Lisle with a
Ribbon Cutting on June 12, 2015. Even though the
weather was rainy, it was a great event attended by
their employees, customers, and Lisle Area
Chamber members. Joe Broda, Mayor of the
Village of Lisle helped to cut the ceremonial ribbon
with the owners of Illinois Energy Windows &
Siding, Inc., David Sonner and Brian Campbell.
For all your window and siding needs, check out
the new store located at 430 Ogden Avenue, Lisle ,
(630) 627-9200.

Brian Campbell, Joe Broda, Mayor of the

Village of Lisle, and David Sooner.

Business After Hours is one of the many great ways to get the most out of your
Chamber membership. Not only do these events provide the opportunity to learn more about one of your
fellow Chamber members business, it is a great opportunity to network with many different members.
