2009 Purchased annual mackerel requirement for 2008/2009 for 12% less than budget. Reduced
annual spend on insurance from £360K to £130K after continuous annual improvements in
the claims history, resulting from changes previously made to the health and safety culture
and training programme.

2008 Achieved 10 year target set in 2000 of increasing group sales to £25million.

2006 Raised finance of £17.2m from banks to purchase a majority shareholding in the target
Altaire Fishing Company in Scotland; negotiated terms with shareholders: settled with
HM Revenue and Customs on liabilities, highlighted during due diligence of potentially
more than £20 million, for less than £5 million

2005 Drove South West Seafoods sales from ‘franchises’ in 15 Sainsburys stores in the South
West through £2million within 2 years of launch.

2004 Identified and developed new sources of supply. Repositioned processes with market
to needs. Introduced new processes to meet environmental requirements and maintain
2009 maximum efficiency. Arranged fish processing in the Shetlands; at a site acquired in
partnership and under contract in Scotland.

2003 Reorganised and streamlined company in line with fishing patterns; introduced culture of
best practice and profit awareness.

1998 Spearheaded project to get a sufficient fishing quota to run two large vessels; acquired
to over 30 small enterprises and licences for £24m to do so. Successfully lobbied government
2000 to change legislation relating to boat licensing, set up UK/Netherlands partnership to
comply with EU licensing and tax legislation.

1997 Managed the Sainsburys account; integrated former Channel Foods business with existing
business: grew turnover with Sainsburys by 25%.

1996 Negotiated the take over of £4m of Channel Foods retail business; expanded facilities;
ensured an uninterrupted supply even after a major fire. Played a pivotal role in securing
the business with Sainsburys.
1994 Project managed the expansion of the production capacity by 40% and installed the first
new generation fishmeal plant to be built in the UK for over 30 years.

high level negotiation capability on acquisitions and mergers; the formation of joint ventures and
partnerships. Interfaced with professional advisors and bankers to complete deals. Successfully
integrated the new ventures into the group structure.

holding 6,000 tonnes of frozen product, distribution in the UK and to 43 countries. Designed and
implemented new stock control system. Established links with new distribution companies resulting in
significant cost savings.
