PROCEDURE

3.1 Installation of under ground drainage pipe for soil, waste water drianage piping

Mark the location of pipe supports as per the Approved drawing for drainage layout.
Lay horizontal pipes at uniform slope as per the slope shown in the approved shop drawing.
The distance between supports will be as per details shown in the submittal and approved drawings.
Provide proper supporting to hold the pipe to get exact invert levels
Use approved fittings and join the pipes using approved lubricant as follows
Pre-clean pipe and gasket of any foreign material.
Check gasket to insure that it is properly seated
Apply lubricant using a sponge, brush, glove or similar type applicator. Be sure enough
lubricant is applied to coat the surface uniformly.
9. Pipe should easily push into female end of gasketed pipe
10. Changes of direction in pipes shall be gradual using 45 degree fittings.
11. Testing shall be done for horizontal runs by keeping a height of 1.5 meter from the bottom level of the
floor gully pipe for 2 Hours.
12. Inspection should conducted in presence of consultant.
13. After consultant approval,permanent support should be provided and makesure that the Invert level
remains same.
14. Trench should be backfilled properly and pour the water in to the trench to ensure that the soil properly
packed around the pipes
15. Keep the drainage pipe filled with water at the time of backfilling to ensure that the pipe is not damaged .

3.2 Installation of above ground drainage pipe for soil, waste, vent & rain water

Mark the location of pipe supports as per the Approved drawing for drainage layout.
Drill holes in the slab for Horizontal pipes and fix the anchor fastener.
The distance between supports will be as per details shown in the submittal and approved drawings.
Hang the UPVC pipes using threaded rods and rubber lined split clamps.
Lay horizontal pipes at uniform slope as per the slope shown in the approved shop drawing.
Use approved fittings and join the pipes using approved lubricant
Pre-clean pipe and gasket of any foreign material.
Check gasket to insure that it is properly seated.
Apply lubricant using a sponge, brush, glove or similar type applicator. Be sure enoughlubricant
is applied to coat the surface uniformly.
10. Pipe should easily push into female end of gasketed pipe
11. Changes of direction in pipes shall be gradual using 45 degree fittings.
12. Provide Riser pipes with the supports as shown in the approved shop drawing.
13. At floor penetrations, completely seal clearances around the pipe
14. Testing shall be done for horizontal runs by keeping a height of 1.5 meter from the bottom level of the
floor gully pipe for 2 Hours..
3.3 Piping connections to plumbing fixtures
1. Provide soil and waste piping run outs to plumbing fixtures and drains with approved trap, of sizes
indicated in the shop drawing.

ACCESS/EGRESS

Work will be carried out only when all associated works of main contractor been verified that they have been
completed.

General: Screwdriver, pliers, hammer, drill, and hack saw.

Personnel protective equipment: All personnel will wear safety shoe, Helmet and coverall at all time.
Power: Single phase normal power where it is needed
Working platforms: Scaffolding and/or ladders.

6.0 MANPOWER REQUIREMENT & SUPERVISION

Depending upon the no of gangs the size of the manpower will be used.Each gang will have the following list of
people
One Senior plumber, one assistant plumber and 1 Helper
