Dear Parents,

MESSAGE OF THE WEEK

We have 99 outstanding library books across the school that children have taken home, can we please ask that you
can return these to school as soon as possible before the last week of term. Children should take these into class
and the library monitors will collect them.
DONATION OF TOILETRIES FOR MOLDOVA
In the summer holidays Mrs Galland is visiting Moldova to work alongside a charity called Stellas Voice
(www.stellasvoice.org.uk).The charity works with orphaned children, from infants through to young adults, and as part
of their fund raising efforts, wants to fill a truck full of desperately needed toiletries to take to Moldova before
summer. If you would like to donate any toiletry items please hand them into the office before Friday 17th July.
Examples: toothpaste, toothbrush, facial wipes, sanitary wear, moisturising cream, hand sanitizer, soap, hair brush,
comb, shampoo, deodorant, shower gel, hair clips, hair bands.
Also if you have any spare buttons lying around at home they would be gratefully received, as we are decorating tote
bags with the children as part of a craft workshop.
EARRINGS
As you may be aware, the school has a strict no jewellery policy to avoid injury and loss. If you are considering
piercing your childs ears, July is a good time to have this done in order to ensure that your childs ears are fully healed
before we return in September. Thank you very much.
UNIFORM SALE
We have a collection of unclaimed and donated uniform items for sale. A table will be placed outside the main
th
entrance of the school on Thursday 16 at 3.00pm for any parents wishing to obtain items at a bargain price. As
always, please help us by naming all items of uniform to reduce lost items. We are aware that, despite our best
efforts to return uniform, it is extremely challenging to return unnamed items.
SAFE DRIVING SEVERN DRIVE
Today a dangerous near miss was reported instigated by a parent driving a black Ford Focus. This involved reversing
down Severn Drive at our busiest time at the start of school. Please can I stress the importance of safe and
considerate driving at all times outside our school to prevent accidents from occurring. I am very grateful to all our
community for not parking on our yellow zigzags; this has improved dramatically recently.
YEAR 4 BRASS ASSEMBLY
th

On the 9 July, parents from our Year 4 classes are again most welcome to come and see the progress their children
are making, our year 6 children who have been learning guitar will also be performing. It will be held at 11am and will
last about 25 minutes.
ENTERPRISE DAY - SUPPORTING YEAR 6
With your support, our Year 6 raised 488 through their efforts last week. This is a fabulous effort by our children and
the staff of Year 6. Your support was most appreciated by us all and all proceeds go towards providing our leavers
with an enjoyable and memorable day before they leave us.

UNIFORM ORDER
Please find attached an order form for our uniform. If you wish to purchase uniform for now, or the new school year
please complete the form and return it to the school office by Friday 10th July with the money enclosed in an
envelope. Alternatively you may go directly to the shop on Bamber Bridge Football grounds.
LIFE BUS
The children are visiting the Life Bus which is a huge mobile classroom which complements our curriculum and
teaches children about their bodies and sends powerful messages about how to care about themselves. Children in
the past have thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Please help support this by sending a 2 contribution to school to
help us continue this experience. Wristbands and tags are offered by the service but are optional, priced at 1.
PTFA 100 CLUB! 1 PER MONTH FOR ENTRY - PLEASE JOIN!
PLEASE JOIN IN WITH THIS! In order to raise money for our pool, we would like to invite every parent to join our 100
Club. At the end of each month, starting next September, we will hold a draw and lucky winners will receive cash
prizes. The more members of our community that enter this, the larger the prizes we are able to give out to our
winners. This fun initiative is to raise money for a sustained pool improvement programme and offer prize monies
to lucky parents and grandparents who wish to join in! Please see the attached form for further information.
