H1N1 Flu
Visit the CDC Web site for the latest information on H1N1 flu including new interim guidance on infection
control measures for 2009 H1N1 influenza in healthcare settings and updated interim recommendations on
H1N1 influenza and HIV-infected adults and adolescents.

Conference News
The Guidelines International Network (G-I-N) Conference 2010, will be held August 25-28, 2010 in
Chicago, Illinois (USA). Submit abstracts until February 1, 2010. The G-I-N Conference 2010 will bring together
various professionals involved in evidence synthesis, guideline development, implementation, quality
improvement, and health policy to integrate knowledge and, ultimately, improve patient outcomes. For further

Recent U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Advisory


January 21, 2010: Meridia (sibutramine hydrochloride): FDA requested and the manufacturer agreed to
add a new contraindication to the sibutramine drug label stating that sibutramine is not to be used in
patients with a history of cardiovascular disease.
