The first Starbucks opened in Seattle, Washington, on March 30, 1971, it was found by Jerry
Baldwin, Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker.
Back then Starbucks were a roaster and retailer of whole bean and ground
coffee, tea and spices with a single store in Seattles Pike Place Market.
-Starbucks has established itself as the worlds leading retailer, roaster and
brand of specialty coffee with over 17,000 outlets in 50 countries
The company, which ranks amongst the worlds top 100 global brands
Starbucks is named after the first mate in Herman Melvilles Moby Dick. Our
logo is also inspired by the sea featuring a twintailed siren from Greek
mythology
