STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The world is moving fast towards better health and lifestyle and it gives me immense pleasure to
be a part of this journey being associated with medical sciences. Since my youth, I always
aspired to be a dentist and i have out performed at every occasion during this tenure. It has been
a long journey and what i cherish most is the experience that i gained through it.
I graduated in Bachelor of Dental Sciences from _______college___ in order to broaden my
perspective and to improve my career prospects in dentistry. I did very well in projects, research,
workshops and class discussion etc. to leave no stone unturned. I am practicing dentistry in
Delhi, India since ______no.of years____ and dream to to contribute towards the improvement
of living standards of people of all races irrespective of their background.
I am applying for admission to a Masters Program in Hospital Administration because I want a
career in the managing and controlling the operations of a hospital and contribute towards
Medical Research and Development. In particular, I am interested in improving the factors that
affect the human performance and standard of living by providing them extensive health care and
bring about reforms for their benefit.
To achieve my career goals, I need to learn much more about current developments and
techniques in hospital systems management, financial systems, general management and acquire
hands-on experience of hospital administration. A Master's Degree will provide me with
theoretical understanding, an in depth idea of practical approaches in aiding managerial decisionmaking and research skills to enable me to develop an expertise in the core areas. I would like to
probe specific problem areas such as the application of quantitative & qualitative analysis to
understanding various issues in global health care and improving decision-making and effect of
increase in global platform.
Strong practical skills and experience gained while working on various dental projects have
helped me to develop sharp analytical abilities and have given me the confidence to tackle
advanced problems on a macro & micro level. I look forward to applying these abilities to the
immense opportunities available at your esteemed university. I hope to become a part of this
dynamic culture which will give me a leading edge to work effectively in diverse teams and
situations.
