SOME GUIDELINES AND INFORMATION FOR DEGREE RECIPIENTS
1.

You must attend the Convocation rehearsal on Wednesday, August 05, 2015
from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at IIT Patna Bihta campus. Transportation will be
provided for all degree recipients from the Main Building, IIT Patna to the Bihta
campus on 5th August at 1:00 PM.

2.

Registration and handing over of Gowns, Invitation card, and Security pass will
start on 5th August from 1:00 PM onwards at IIT Patna Bihta campus. You are
supposed to collect all necessary items on 5th August itself.

3.

Please enter the Convocation Venue wearing the prescribed convocation dress
(with stole) on August 06, 2015 and occupy the seats allotted to you by 10:00
AM. Transportation will be provided for all degree recipients from the Main
Building, IIT Patna to the Bihta campus on 6 th August at 7:30 AM.
Maintain the solemnity of the function.

4.

Follow the dress code given below during rehearsal and convocation:
For Boys: Light colour full-sleeve shirt (no printed design) , dark colour
trouser (no printed design) and shoes with socks
For Girls: Light colour plain Saree or Salwar Kurta (no printed design) with
Scraff and ladies shoes

5.

Please carry the invitation card and your guests are also requested to carry the
invitation card on 6th August 2015.

6.

The Academic Procession will proceed to the Convocation dais at 10.40 AM.

7.

All the persons in the Pandal will remain standing at their respective seats as the
Academic Procession enters and proceeds towards the dais, till the end of the
National Song.

8.

For degree, the Departments/Courses are arranged in an order as given in the

printed Convocation Program. As the names of students for the particular degree
and course are read out, they should proceed one by one to the dais in a line.
While moving from one side of the dais to the other for receiving the degrees
from the Director, they should bow down to show respect to the Chief Guest and
other dignitaries. After receiving the degree, they should return to their

respective seats in the manner shown during the rehearsal.

9.

After giving away all the certificates to the candidates in a particular Degree, the
Director charges them to be worthy of the same. The degree recipients are
required to rise from their seats or remain standing at whatever positions they
may be, when the Director charges the recipients.

10.

After the distribution of the Medals, the President of India Gold Medal Winner
will read out the pledge in Sanskrit/ English and the degree recipients will take
the pledge by reciting the same in a chorus. All recipients must remain standing
at the time of taking the pledge.

11.

At the end, all the persons in the Hall will remain standing at their respective
seats during the National Anthem and as the Academic Procession leaves the
Hall.

12.

The gown issued on hire is to be returned immediately after the convocation is

over.

You are cordially invited with your guest for the Convocation Lunch at 1:15
PM in IIT Patna Bihta campus on 6th August 2015. Transportation will be
provided for the Bihta campus to IIT Patna main building premise at 3:30 PM
