business is spread across India Thailand and China. In India the chemicals business operates through four
companies: Aditya Birla Nuvo Grasim Industries Aditya Birla Chemicals India formerly known as Bihar Caustic and
Chemicals Limited and Tanfac.In Thailand the business operates through two companies: Aditya Birla Chemicals
Thailand Ltd and Thai Peroxide Company Ltd. In China the chemicals business operates through Aditya Birla
Grasun Chemicals Fangchenggang Ltd.The business covers six major product segments: chloralkalis epoxy
fluorine chemicals peroxides phosphates and sulphites. These chemicals find application across a wide range of
industries including food food processing personal consumer products coating civil engineering wind energy
composites electrical pulp and paper detergents water treatment and metal treatment. The business exports to 58
countries across the globe. The products are manufactured at eleven units five in India five in Thailand and one in
China. The chemicals produced at these factories are recognised the world over for their high quality. The business
is setting up new greenfield project in the form of a chemical complex at Vilayat Gujarat and also has plans to setup
a plant at Patalganga near Mumbai.

1. Management of existing supplier

relationships
2. Pricing negotiations and contract
management
3. Customizing various pricing models
with suppliers to maximize value to the
firm (should have adequate exposure to
contract structures with suppliers)

1. Responsible for identifying new

suppliers in China
2. Establishing contacts with potential
suppliers
3. Evaluation of chemical suppliers
4. Conducting thorough background
check of suppliers before approval

1. POC for Logistics team in China

2. Ensure smooth dispatch of shipments
from foreign port
1. Ensure adequate risk mitigation
steps are taken along with Finance

2. Ensure all compliances are in place
for required products and services in
the form of documentation, approvals,
audits etc with support from legal/
finance/ logistics team

5 Compliance and Risk management

1.Understand the requirements of sales

team regarding:
a) Product specification
b) Quantity
c) Time of delivery
d) Payment terms
2. Liaison between the sales team &
suppliers in China
3. Ensures that at all time customers
requirements are met on time

Qualifications
B Tech + MBA / PG ( Post Graduate Diploma in Export & Import Management Preferred)
Mandatory Skills 5+ years in purchase department of companies purchasing chemicals Comfortable with
spoken Mandarin and/or Cantonese Specific experience dealing with chemicals o Bringing new suppliers o
Managing supplier relationships
