Guide Questions for the Focus Group Discussion on the

Contextualization of IT Tech-Voc Track and Immersion Policy


Objectives:
1. To identify the specific curriculum gaps between the industry needs
and the DepEd curriculum.
2. To prescribe actions on the identified gaps on the curriculum through
changes or reformatting of the curriculum guide.
3. To identify the immersion policies per industry cluster
a. What is the existing industry policy?
b. What are the requirements for immersion in the companies
belonging to the industry?
c. What are the possible arrangements for immersion which can be
applied?

Curriculum Contextualization
FGD Questions:
PART 1: Curriculum Guide Review
Conduct a preliminary review/overview of the curriculum guides.
1. Based on preliminiary analysis, the following three competencies are
the core contents required by the industries under ITBPO:
a. Business communication
b. Service Culture
c. Systems Thinking

Q: What is the industtrys operational definition of the


abovementioned core skills?
2. For the core contents the curriculum mentioned above, are the
following core subjects found in the CG?
3. Are the CGs responsive to these core competencies? If no, how do we
address the gap?
4. Based on the provided curriculum guide for your industry, do you
identify any other gaps in terms of content and competencies which
you deem should be included in the curriculum?
5. What are the specific gaps in the existing curriculum which you think
should be addressed in this curriculum contextualization exercise?
