The Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation desires to shortlist Landscape
architects / Urban designers for rendering concept and designing consultancy
services for street landscape improvement, junction improvement and urban
designing, Transport management in view of the forthcoming Godavari
Pushkarams. The interested and eligible architects / firm can apply to the
undersigned for shortlists.
The details of the Expression of Interest and formats can be downloaded
from www.rajahmundrycorporation.org from 24-02-2015 to 03-03-2015 and
last date of receiving the application is on or before 04-03-2015 at 4:00 p.m.

NOTIFICATION
For Expression Of Interest

1. Project background

Introduction:
a) Godavari Pushkarams to the Holy River Godavari is
conducted once every 12 years, this year from 14th July to
25th July. People will be waiting curiously to take a holy dip in
river Godavari during Pushkarams which will give them
health and wealth. People do Pithru Karmas to their
ancestors to get their blessings. As many as 4.00 Crores of
people are expected to participate in Pushkarams.
b) I) The history of Rajahmundry dates back to 919 A.D. The
city derived its name from the title Rajahmahendra worn
by Vishnuvardhan who ruled the kingdom during 919-934
A.D.
II) At the request of the famous king Rajaraja Narendra
(10227-1061 A.D.) Nannayya, the first Telugu poet took
up the translation of Mahabharata.
III)Later the Cholas and the Cholukyas ruled the Vengi
kingdom with Rajamahendravaram (now called
Rajahmundry) as capital.
IV)Later the kingdom had come under therule of Kakatiyas.
V) Rajahmundry is located on 17o 10 o northern latitude
and 81 o - 41 o eastern longitude on the left bank of the
mighty river Godavari. Just above the head of the delta.
At a distance of 576 KMs from Madras by railway.
VI)The GNT road through the road-cum-rail bridge passes
towards north through the town.
VII)The import railway line, Madras to Calcutta also passes
through the town longitudinally.
VIII)The city is developed along the eastern bank of the river
Godavari in a liner fashion. The city is very uneven and
irregular, the contours not following any regular pattern.

c) To spruce up the town, it is required to enhance and beautify

the street Landscape, Traffic Junction, Parks and Gardens in
the major localities besides urban designing and Transport
Management for effective conduct of the mega event, design
concepts are required for the Rajahmundry Municipal
Corporation on consultancy basis. The landscape
improvement works are proposed to be taken up in 5 major
roads leading to the city and near to the ghats.
2. Eligibility conditions:

Only the interested Landscape architects/ Landscape architect

firms / urban designers with the following experience will be eligible for
short listing.
a. The architect / firm should have at least 5 years of
professional experience in providing similar consultancy
services. This should be supported by necessary documentary
proof.
b. The architect / firm should have a good track record of
rendering the concept & designs consultancy services for a
similar project in the last three years. The Landscape Architect /
Firm should have rendered concept & designs consultancy
services for at least one project costing not less than Rs.100
Lakhs or two works of value not less than Rs.50 Lakhs each
during the last 3 years ending December, 2014. This should be
supported by a certificate regarding satisfactory completion of
the project.

The interested Landscape architect / urban designer /

architect firm who satisfy the above eligibility criteria only
should submit their application in the prescribed format
with all necessary documents.
The prospective applicants may obtain the EOI details and
proforma from the Office of the Commissioner, Rajahmundry Municipal
Corporation, Rajahmundry during office hours from 24-02-2015 to
03-03-2015 at free of cost or the same can be downloaded from the
website www.rajahmundrycorporation.org.
3. General terms:

i.
Covering Letter shall be in the format prescribed in
Annexure -I.
ii. The EOI application shall be in the format prescribed in
Annexure II.
iii. The applicants are required to submit the necessary
details with authenticated documents along with the application.
iv. The application should be printed. The applicant should
sign on each page of the application.
v. The applicant may furnish any additional information,
which is deemed necessary to establish their capability to
successfully render Landscape consultancy services. Superfluous
information need not be furnished and no information shall be
entertained after submission of EOI document unless specifically
called for.
vi. Any information furnished by the applicant found to be
incorrect either immediately or at a later date, would render the
applicant liable to be debarred from taking up the project.
vii. The EOI application in prescribed form duly completed
and signed along with other necessary documents should be
submitted in a sealed cover, super-scribed EOI Interest to
render Concept & Design consultancy services for street
landscape improvement, junction improvement and urban
designing, Transport Management. The applications should be
submitted either personally or through post / courier in the office
of the Commissioner, Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation,
Rajahmundry upto 4:00 p.m. on or before 04-03-2015, to register
their names for short listing. Belated submission of application or
on account of delay in postal / courier transit will not be
considered for short listing.
viii. The Interested architects / firms may note that this is not a
request for tender. After review and scrutiny of Expression of
Interest, the suitable Landscape Architects/ Firms, will be short
listed for rendering architectural consultancy services.
ix. The Landscape Architects / firms will be required to
submit their price bids for rendering consultancy services along

with the concept designs, drawings, layout plan etc., in two cover
system (Technical bid and price bid)
x. Basing on the concepts submitted by the architects /
firms, also considering the capability and past experience in
rendering Landscape consultancy services, and also basing on
the price quoted for the consultancy services, one or more
architect / firms will be selected finally and the selection will be
based on the scrutiny by a committee consisting of experts,
Officers / Engineers etc.,
xi. The selected Landscape architect / firm shall co-ordinate
with the Commissioner, Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation,
Rajahmundry or his authorized representative throughout the
period of execution, and shall provide satisfactory concept &
designs consultancy services
xii. Prospective applicants may seek any clarification in this
regard from the Commissioner, Rajahmundry Municipal
Corporation during the office hours.
xiv. The discretion and decision of the Commissioner,
Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation, Rajahmundry in respect of
short listing of the Landscape architects / firms, selection of the
Landscape architect / urban designers / firm and also the
approval of the concepts shall be final.
xv. The particulars of the project given in the project
background are indicative only and are subject to change and
may be considered only as advance information to assist the
prospective applicants.
