ArQoS Optical Networks

Introduction
ArQoS Optical Network is a specialized ArQoS
sollution for optical network monitoring
completed integrated with other ArQoS Modules
It combines PROBE-PON measurements in
passive optical networks (PON) and point-topoint networks with ArQoS Management System.
ArQoS has a special pack for fiber optics testing,
trace analysis and georeferenced data
visualization for quick location of network events
(passive and reflective) and also fiber cuts.

PROBE-PON
Non-intrusive wavelength for monitoring 1650 nm
The test wavelength can be inserted into the network using a
WDM filter: MUX WDM-PON OLT PROBE
Compatible with various PON technologies, including GPON,
GEPON, BPON networks and future generation as XGPON1
Compatible with point-to-point technologies
To detect the exact position of the customers in point-tomultipoint networks is requires reflective elements on the
emission wavelength of the OTDR
Reduced event dead zone
High resolution
High dynamic range
Detection with less than 50 cm of Clients in
a PON with optical reflection filter

The PROBE-PON exists with several different
options:
8 ports;
16 ports;
32 ports;
64 ports;
128 ports;
The equipment is capable to communicate with the
management server by two different types: Ethernet
and GSM. If first one has a failure with the
management communication, the equipment
detects it automatically and switch to the available
communication.
The equipment can control an remote optical switch
by optical connection, Ethernet or even GSM.

ArQoS PROBE-PON
ArQoS Management System is web-based system , multi-platform and multi-user with
access control and user managed network partitioning.
This system follows the latest guidelines of the OSS (Operating Support Systems) in
TMForum Frameworkx. Using the latest components (state of the art) JEE (Java Enterprise
Edition) application servers supported in a robust and scalable and modular system.
System access is done using a simple web browser connected to the network management
and is controlled by Access Control System (ACS). All access to the system require user
authentication.

through Innovation

ArQoS PROBE-PON
ArQoS Management System is divided into modules with different responsibilities, functions
and capabilities. This allows the use of specific modules for specific types of users at different
levels and use the distribution system.
Access to the system and its modules is controlled by the Access Control System (ACS). This
module allows the user management and access to each feature.

ArQoS PROBE-PON
Site Manager is used to create the organizational domains of the network where will be
located the PROBE-PON. This module offers the possibility of partitioning the network into
logical and physical views. These procedures are usually performed at the time of system
installation and every time new locations or organizational domains are used for installation of
PROBE-PON.

through Innovation

ArQoS PROBE-PON
To discover and configure the PROBE-PON is used another module: Resource Manager.
Supports automatic discovery of PROBE-PON for the simple indication of the IP access.
This module is mostly used when a new PROBE-PON is discovered or is necessary to
make some configuration or status query on the equipment.
This module is responsible for managing subscriptions of the network with representation
and manual validation of events (joints, connectors and termination of client). These
network signatures are used as reference measures for further analysis in diagnostic
testing and monitoring for fault detection.

To carry out tests on fiber optic networks is used ArQoS with Fiber Optics . In this
module are carried out all activities related programming and interactive tests
scheduled, troubleshooting and analysis of results. This is the core module
management system and more used for daily operation.
