    Instructions for Candidates Filing with the Secretary of State  
     
    Filing Deadlines  
    y Primary election: incumbents, Feb. 15, 2010; non­incumbents, March 1, 2010.  
    y General election: incumbents, July 15, 2010; non­incumbents, Aug. 1, 2010. 
     
    Primary election requirements for Congress  
    y Must fill out a partisan candidate filing form.
      
    y Filing fee is $1,740.
     
    y No Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission C­1 form is required.
      
    y Register with the Federal Election Commission.
       
     
    Primary election requirements for the following partisan offices: constitutional 
    officers and Public Service Commission  
    y Must fill out a partisan candidate filing form.  
    y Must fill out the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission C­1 form. We 
    need both forms to complete the filing. 
    y Filing fees: 
    o Governor, $1,050 
    o Secretary of State, $850 
    o Auditor, $850 
    o Treasurer, $850 
    o Attorney General, $950 
    o Public Service Commission, $750 
     
    Primary  election  requirements  for  the  following  nonpartisan  offices:  Legislature, 
    Board  of  Regents,  State  Board  of  Education  and  public  power  districts  grossing 
    over $40 million  
    y Must fill out a nonpartisan candidate filing form.  
    y Must fill out the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission C­1 form. We 
    need both forms to complete the filing. 
    y Filing fees: 
    o Legislature, $120 
    o Board of Regents, $25 
    o State Board of Education, $25 
    o Public power districts grossing over $40 million (NPPD, OPPD, Southern, Loup 
    and Norris), $25  
     
    Primary  election  requirements  for  the  following  nonpartisan  offices:  community 
    colleges, natural resources districts and learning communities 
    y Must fill out a nonpartisan candidate filing form.
      
    y No Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission C­1 form is required.
     
    y No filing fee.
      
     
    General  election  requirements  for  public  power  districts  grossing  under  $40 
    million   
    y Must fill out a nonpartisan candidate filing form.  
    y Must fill out the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission C­1 form.  We 
    need both forms to complete the filing. 
    y Filing fee is $10.  
     
    General  election  requirements  for  the  following  nonpartisan  offices:  reclamation 
    districts and education service units   
    y Must fill out a nonpartisan candidate filing form.
      
    y No Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission C­1 form is required.
     
    y Filing fees:
     
    o Reclamation districts, $10 
    o Education service units, no fee   
     
    General Election requirements for judicial retention  
    y Must submit filing form by Aug. 1, 2010.
      
    y No Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission C­1 form is required.
     
    y No filing fee.
