Flier design in InDesign to

advertise conference

The objective is to learn how to layout different

elements on a project. In this case I placed
different elements on the
document and creadted a design that would
look professional through the use of alignment
and typography
I used the word Graduate as focal point mak-

ing the first letter G stand out and have some

contrast, I also did use the image as a focal

point. I used two different fonts: for the title I

used Helvetica Neue and for the body Bodoni. I

made use of white space in the lower right side

of the flyer and emphasized a couple of sen-

tences in the text body. I was given the image,

logo, and content for this flier.

Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
Montage of spiritual nature made by using and
blending two images and typography

To learn how to blend two images or more in

Photoshop to deliver a spiritual message.

Once I found the images I wanted I opened

them in photoshop. I took the lasso tool and

cut around Jesus face which I then inserted

on the upper left corner of the other image.

I made a mask and with the brush tool and

made the two images blend. I then proceeded

to type in the quote and tried out different

fonts. I made the word faith stand out for

contrast in a different font.

Microsoft Word

A color full-bleed event ad to promote a

fundraiser using only Microsoft Word and a

scanned image.

Objective:

Process:

To demonstrate how to design with the use of

only Microsoft Word and a scanned image

I found an image from a magazine to scan.

Using Microsoft Word I inserted the picture

and then I proceeded to add some boxes for

the event title and text. Using the dropper tool

I was able to select a couple of colors from

the image and duplicate those colors for the

boxes. I choose three different fonts, one

for the title and two for the rest of the text. I
aligned text to the left and centered the title
within the box.

Photo composition using photoshop with addition of other design elements, color and type

The objective is to develop photoshop skills by

using colors from the picture itself to create a
color scheme and typography.

Process:

I took several pictures of musical instruments

as the message is about music. I used my basic

point and shoot Cannon A 530. In photoshop

I used several tools to modify the picture and

make it look better. I made adjustments by ad-

justing color, brightness, saturation and playing

with light and dark levels. Using the dropper

tool I was able to pick colors from the image

and add those colors to the other elements in

the composition.

Single fold brochure with logo and montage
To create a professional brochure including
designed logo, images and text

The first thing I did was to plan the layout of

the brochure. I also did search for a couple of

pictures online. I then started to design a logo
in Illustrator. I used the shape and line tool to
design a simple wagon wheel to go with the
theme of the brochure. With photoshop I

selected one of the pictures and with the

Quick Selection Tool cut part of it out and

refined the edges as I was going to use it with

a text wrap. I placed the cut out image and

applied text wrap on the right side of it. In the

front cover and using photoshop I did a montage of two images I found online.

Design of a company logo

To present a professional logo designed with
Adobe Illustrator

I created three different logos for the

company. I used Adobe Illustrator to de-

sign the different logos. I took the logo that

worked best in my opinion refined it by adding

to the books and playing with different fonts,

kerning and leading. I mainly used the pen tool.

I also tried different colors to create a good

color scheme. I added stroke to the books and

the big letter U.

Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
Design of a business card

Showcase of business card design

On Adobe Illustrator I started designing the

logo. I used the star tool to create two stars,

one on top to the other, each a different color.

I then proceeded to apply an effect to distort

the stars. I opened InDesign and place the logo

in a new document on the upper left hand corner. I included the rest of the information with

the type tool creating repetition with the colors

and fonts. I added to the InDesign document
the front and back of the business card. The

business card was created by inserting the logo

and adding the rest of the information with the
type tool making it look like the letter head.

Creation of a business stationary

This stationary was created to show another

aspect of design. This stationary goes with the

previous business card

On Adobe Illustrator I started designing the

logo. I used the star tool to create two stars,

one on top to the other, each a different

color. I then proceeded to apply an effect to

distort the stars. I opened InDesign and place

the logo in a new document on the upper left

changed the opacity to 5% to create the water

mark. I included the rest of the information

with the type tool creating repetition with the

colors and fonts.
