This Technical Publication describes methods to minimize 110F, 1104 jam codes, Error Codes
E001-0003, E540-8002, E542-8002, and the message Waiting To Print due to a fault in the paper
face detection of the finisher tray.
DETAILS:
Since there are different issues with different finishers, the following is a list of finishers and their
issues along with their respective copier:
imageRUNNER 5075/5065/5055 Series: Finisher-AD1/Saddle Finisher-AD2
E001-0003 (abnormal rise in temperature: the reading is not 150 degrees C or higher or 210
degrees C or lower within 30 sec.).
E540-8002: Tray 1 shift area error

Cause:
Due to the warping of the shaft of the Upper Paper Face Sensing Flag (4A3-5454-010) [1], the
paper face sensor [3] is not interrupted when the stack tray [2] pushes down the upper paper face
sensing flag [1] and a JAM or an error occurs. (P-1)

FACTORY MEASURE:
Warping of the Upper Paper Face Sensing Flag [1] has been corrected.
The thickness of the Push-On portion of the Paper Face Sensing Flag on the Upper Tray Cover
has been increased by 0.5mm on the machines listed on page 1 under Products Affected.

SERVICING:
When any of the symptoms mentioned above should occur on the devices within the serial
numbers listed under "Serial Numbers Affected ", install 1 sheet [5] (4Y3-3015-000) on the upper
and lower tray covers, as indicated in (P-4), following the "Sheet Installation Procedure" on page 6
of 6.
NOTE:
Do not install the sheets on devices outside the indicated serial number ranges under "Products Affected".

Sheet Installation Procedure


Tools needed:

Phillips screwdriver

Time required:

Approx. 20 min

1. Turn off the main power of the copier.


2. Remove the 9 screws [1] and then the upper tray cover [3] of the stack upper tray [2].

3. Attach the sheet [4] to the upper tray cover [3].

Refer to the reference lines [A] when attaching the sheet [4].
4. Reinstall the upper tray cover [2].
5. Attach the sheet to the stack lower tray [5] in the same way for the stack upper tray [2].
