WRRF DANCEHALL QUEEN COMPETITION

WINDSOR, ONTARIO
AUGUST 13 – 15, 2010

JUDGING

• The organizers have chosen reputable judges who have the ability to recognize quality dancing
and will judge fairly and impartially without any biases or favouritism
• All judges are active in the dancehall/reggae industry
• Dancers will be judged on style, uniqueness, creativity that is unique to the Dancehall Reggae
genre from grassroots to what is happening in the clubs today
• Overly overt sexual acts will be automatically disqualified
• Judging will be scored on a 10 point system
• Judging will be based on:
a. Timing
b. Expression
c. Fluidity
d. Customs / appearance
e. Creativity
f. Technique
g. Choreography
• Scores will be tallied by an independent body
• All scores are final. No challenges will be accepted upon crowing of MISS WRRF DANCEHALL
QUEEN 2010

OFFICIAL RULES
1. The WRRF DANCEHALL QUEEN 2010 competition is open to any female dancer. No previous
experience is required
2. The competition is in a the dancehall reggae dancing format and is open to single contestants (no
teams or couples will be accepted)
3. The Winner must be willing and able to travel to Jamaica for the official Miss World Dancehall
Queen competition in Montego Bay
4. NO WALK UP ENTRIES PERMITTED. All contestants MUST read and sign the registration and
rules and regulations forms confirming acceptance of the rules and regulations and understood all
conditions of entry including liability waiver. Only competitors that have returned signed form will
be eligible to enter the competition
5. Dancehall is danced in many styles in different countries. Contestants will be judged fairly and
impartially regardless of the style of dancehall music, beat, style, or region
6. No Nudity
7. All registered contestants will be issued two non transferable passes to Windsor Reggae &
Reggaeton Festival. VIP and All Access Passes will be avail for purchase or you can upgrade
your non transferable pass for additional fee
8. All contestants are required to conduct themselves in a professional and ethically manner at all
times. Unsportsmanlike conduct will be grounds for disqualification from the competition
9. No late entry – contestants must perform in their assigned order
10. Props are not allowed
11. Contestants will only be permitted to start over due to technical difficulties that are out of the
control of the contestant
12. All issues and queries must be directed to the WRRF Dancehall Committee ONLY. Judges will
not be able to answer any questions about he outcome of the completion
13. Contestants must all attend a Dancehall Queen Meeting on Friday August 13, 2010 at 10pm –
Location to be announced
14. All contestants will have access to a 10 minute rehearsal space on Saturday & Sunday. A
schedule will be available once all registration has been confirmed
15. NO Videos will be allowed of the competition. Official photographs and videographer will be
conducted by WRRF staff
16. All dance acts must be free of racist, pornographic, sexist or violent content. Offensive material
will result in an immediate disqualification from judges
17. Disclaimer all contestants and their representatives will hold WRRF and ASPM Holdings free
from any claim, action, suit damage, cost, loss, expense or liability of any kind however suffered
or incurred in respect of any loss of life, personal injury, loss or damage to property or other loss
whatsoever arising as a result of any breach of law and any negligent or wrongful act or omission
of the dancers occurring in connection with participation in the competition.
18. The winner agrees to be exclusively managed by ASPM Holdings Inc.and all bookings will be
arranged through ASPM Holdings Inc. until December 31, 2011
