MESSAGE
Establishing and commencing a B-School from

the stakeholders. In an era of consolidation and
divestment among B Schools, Birla Institute of

by the BK Birla Group of companies, under the aegis
of Birla Academy of Art and Culture decided to launch
a second campus in Bhubaneswar, Odisha which

institute we at BIMTECH Bhubaneswar try to
inculcate the guiding principles of excellence, ethics
and values amongst our students while shaping and
sharpening their mindsets by the academic rigor.

FROM THE
COORDINATORS
DESK
It feels like just yesterday that the new campus at Bhubaneswar
started its operations. But already a year has gone by!
When the new government took over, Indian stocks rose and
there are larger expectations from all stakeholders aimed at
inclusive growth and development. The recent Union Budget
2014 termed Pro-Growth by the Indian Corporate sector has
paved the way for new players to enter the market.
Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook says India has the
potential to become the largest economy in the world. The
current Indian economy is expanding and providing
opportunities for investors to enter the country and also creating
job opportunities for the booming intellectual capital in the
country. Both public and private sector look for talented people
with knowledge and skills.

THE
ODYSSEY TO NCR
The major purpose of the trip to the NCR was to visit, the industries working in and around Noida, and thereby
getting to know and perhaps also witness the ground running realities of an industry from a managerial point
of view. Hence the trip can be tagged to being part of the learning process in a way that exposure uplifts the
knowledge & experience of a student. The trip also provided an opportunity for the institute to plan brief PreSIP workshops for us conducted by doyens of various studies and industry experts.
The workshops held comprised lectures on business etiquette, presentation skills, summer internship &
possible projects within finance, marketing and operations domain and internship report writing.
36
www.bimtechbbsr.ac.in
The fourth visit to Moser Baer gave an insight into the manufacturing
process & storage of CDs including quality factors and measurement
methodologies. The visit also provided an opportunity to celebrate the
New Year at Gr.Noida campus and an otherwise impossible
opportunity of visiting Dasna jail in Ghaziabad (CSR activity)
distributing clothes and playing cricket with inmates where Gr. Noida
had started a library under the aegis of the Ranganathan Society.
Thus, in conclusion this entire industrial exposure helped us to
broaden our outlook and to a great extent to climb up the learning
curve of education.
