Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
The National Aquatic Safety Company
1002 Avenue L
Dickinson, TX 77539
Dear Mr. Jacobson
We received your letter dated July 27, 2015 which formally stated that the National Aquatic Safety Company (NASCO)
will immediately comply with the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services requirement to delete from the
NASCOs lifeguard training certification courses the in-water-intervention (IWI) protocol which specifies the use of up to
five abdominal thrusts on an unconscious, non-breathing near drowning victim while still in the water.
We reviewed your update and this letter is to confirm that the state accepted your favorable and prompt response to
comply with all required changes. Therefore, we are able to continue our recognition of NASCOs lifeguards
certification training courses - effective today. Should you have any questions, advice or request additional information
please contact Dr. Ihsan Azzam at iazzam@health.nv.gov or (775) 684-5946.
Sincerely,

Tracey D. Green, MD
