Summary
I thrive in external facing roles for the companies I represent. I grew up in an engineering family, who
developed and patented products over the course of 50 years. Crossing the chasm between business and
engineering is not easy but I feel it comes to me naturally. Gobi is a great example of my obsession in making
the world better through technology, by allowing people to use notebook computers, anywhere and anytime.
A brief look at my background: 20 years experience in Business Development inventing ideas that generate
new streams of revenue. 20 years experience in Management and Leadership working for Fortune 500
and multi-hundred billion dollar companies. 10 years experience in Public Relations and Industry Analyst
Relations. 10 years experience in Strategic Communications shaping & articulating messages. 10 years
experience in Marketing Communications technology products or services. 6 years experience in Product
Management at the executive level from developing, managing, and delivering product to bringing in revenue.
Here are a few of my professional highlights: Currently have many important relationships with media and
industry analysts around the world. An invaluable asset... something that has taken years to cultivate. Invited
to join MediaTek, Qualcomm's largest competitor, to create a Global Communications function. ($30B Market
Cap company, 10,000 employees, 27 sites, managing nine Public Relations agencies and a distributed team
around the world. Built the Analyst Relations function for Qualcomm ($143B Market Cap company). Built
a market for Gobi from zero to 316 product offerings on 101 models with 18 manufacturers and 27 carriers
worldwide. I have a unique background in business, which involves knowing how to innovate, drive revenue
and deliver profit. However, my true passion lay in the communications area, being the face of a company and
leading others.
Experience
Vice President, Worldwide Public and Analyst Relations at MediaTek
August 2013 - Present (1 year 7 months)
Head of Worldwide Public and Analyst Relations for 11,000 employee fabless semico company based in
Hsinchu, Taiwan. I was asked to come to MediaTek to develop a new Global Communications function
which includes creating a Public and Analyst Relations Department. This is a large role, which entails
creating a broad strategy for publicizing what MediaTek does and clearly attempting to separate us from
the competition. MediaTek is unique as we build for the masses and not the chosen. The company believes
that everyone deserves to use technology. MediaTek is a 17 year old company who never spoke much about
what they did but rather designed, engineered and sold products for the optical storage, DVD, Blu-Ray,
Navigation, TV, Feature and Smartphone businesses, and quietly grew to notoriety. MediaTek is likely in
many peoples lives and they don't know it. As we globalize the company and aggressively move beyond
Taiwan and Asia, it is an amazing story to be telling.
