In order to read a module which has pre-requisite module(s), a student is required to have read but not necessarily
have passed the pre-requisite module(s), in a previous semester.
In order to read a module which has co-requisite module(s), a student must read the co-requisite module(s) in the
same semester unless he has read but not necessarily has passed the co-requisite module(s), in a previous semester.
All modules available for Semester I, AY2015/2016 are listed below for your easy reference. Please take note that
some of the modules have pre-requisite and/or co-requisite module(s).

c)

Re-taking of Modules
Students may opt to Re-take a module only if;
(i) it is a failed module or
(ii) they have been exempted from sitting for the examination in the previous semester, based on medical grounds and
(iii) the module is offered in the current semester.
Students are advised to re-take all failed modules during the next available semester and try not to delay re-taking
essential modules till the final year.

d) Elective Module
An Elective module may not be offered if there is insufficient number of students opting for that module at any
particular time. Students who are affected will be informed later for re-registration of other modules.
A student who fails an Elective module in the previous semester(s) may opt not to re-take the module but to register
for another module.
e)

Final Year Project

i) Students intending to start their FYP this Semester I AY2015/2016:
If you intend to start your FYP this semester, you would have already been allocated with a project and supervisor.
Please register for your FYP module via CORS. Please note that all students who bid for their FYP module will be
allocated. If you have not been allocated with a project and supervisor, you must not register for your FYP module.
ii) Students who have started their FYP in Semester II AY2014/2015 and earlier:
Please be informed that you do not need to register for your FYP module via CORS. B.Tech. Office will pre-allocate
the module to you.

Effective from Semester 2 AY2011/2012, B.Tech. students will NOT be allowed to exercise the S/U option on any
Engineering module (all levels), including those declared as Unrestricted Elective Modules (UEM). Engineering
modules are modules which are originated from the Faculty of Engineering and which are not SS or GEM modules or
the two special B.Tech. modules, TG1422 & TG1423, offered to meet the Breadth requirements. Modules that can be
used for Breadth, or SS and GEM modules are allowed for S/U Option. Please note that all GEMs have module codes
starting with GE and all SS modules have module codes starting with SS.

j)

Additional Technical Electives

We encourage students to read more than the minimum number of Technical Electives (TE) required for their
respective degree program. These additional TEs can continue to be declared as Unrestricted Electives (UE).

k) Tutorial Registration
Please ignore the Tutorial Registration in CORS. The tutorial groups for B.Tech. students will be manually assigned
by the B.Tech. Office.
l)

File for Graduation (FFG)/Commencement

For final year students, if you have accumulated enough Modular Credits (MCs) to graduate (including those modules
that you have successfully bidded), you may file for graduation under the File for Graduation option.

m) GEK1523T
Please note that you are NOT allowed to declare this module as a Breadth module.

partially paid by the payment due date. For students whose fees remain in arrears, the University reserves the right to
take further action as deemed necessary including barring such students from module registrations in a
subsequent semester, canceling such students current module registrations, withholding results slips or
transcripts, and withholding the confirmation of the award of the degree.
If students are under company-sponsored, please highlight to your company to settle the fees on time as well, as the
penalty fees will also apply.
