pulled dow n below t he knee.
Tape used on shoes and st ockings must be black or w hit e t o mat ch t he select ed
dominant shoe choice of t he club .
The t eam j ersey m ust be t ucked in at t he waist .
Towels m ust be t ucked int o t he f ront w aist of t he pant s and are limit ed t o a
maxim um of 6 inches wide and 8 inches long.
Shoulder pads and t high and knee pads are mandat ory equipment and m ust be
worn by all players, except punt ers and kickers.
Players must be exam ined by a club physician wit h a report submit t ed t o t he
League office for approval prior t o w earing a non -st andard/ cust omized f acemask.
All points of a chin strap, whether there are two points or four points, must be fastened
to the helmet prior to the snap.
Clubs must obt ain approval from t he Foot ball Operat ions depart m ent before any
new product can be used by one of t heir players in a gam e. The use of any
product by a player during a game wit hout prior League approval m ay subj ect t he
player and/ or t he club t o significant f ines if it is det erm ined t hat t he product
violat ed NFL rules.

are prohibited. All jerseys must carry a small NFL Shield logo at the middle
of the yoke of the neck on the front of the garment. All fabrics must be
approved by the League office prior to production.
Numerals on the back and front of jerseys as
8 inches high and 4 inches wide, and their color must be in sharp contrast
with the color of the jersey. Smaller numerals should be worn on the tops of
the shoulders or upper arms of the jersey. Small numerals on the back of
the helmet or on the uniform pants are optional.
Pants must be worn over the entire knee area; pants shortened or
rolled up to meet the stockings above the knee are prohibited. No part of
the pants may be cut away unless an appropriate gusset or other device is
used to replace the removed material. All pants must carry a small NFL

subsequent ly impose independent disciplinary act ion on t he involved player, up
preseason,
regular season, or post season, whichever is applicable.
Not e 2: I f a player is suspended for having adhesive or slippery subst ances on his body,
equipment , or uniform , he must remain out of t he game for one play, even if
t here is a t eam t imeout , t he t w o-minut e warning, or t he end of a period.
Not e 3: I f a player ( kick er) is suspended for having an illegal kicking shoe, he must
remain out of t he game for one play, unless t here is a t eam t imeout , t he t wo minut e w arning, or t he end of t he period.
