WHAT IS UNLIMITED PLAY?

Unlimited Play is an award winning nonprofit organization that

builds universally inclusive playgrounds to promote health and
wellness and change communities by providing freedom of
play for ALL children.
Unlimited Play partners with
municipalities, local businesses,
schools and community groups
to help design, develop
(mobilize the funds & awareness) and build universally inclusive playgrounds.

WHAT IS AN INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND?

A playground specifically designed to remove physical and

social barriers so ALL children,
with and without disabilities
and/or critical illnesses, can play
side by side with their peers and
families.

WHY ARE INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUNDS MORE COSTLY?

Space requirements for ramping; specialized surfacing (not

loose-filled) those using walkers
or wheelchairs; interactive technology for those with hearing
and visual impairments; specialized seating on swings allowing
support for those with low muscle tone; all push up the cost for
these specialized playgrounds.
Surfacing alone can cost
$150,000 or more. The higher
cost of means many local governments often can't afford
them and build playgrounds
that, while ADA compliant, exclude a large segment of people.

PLAYGROUNDS MATTER

Play is a critical part of the

social, emotional, cognitive
& physical development of
every child. Unfortunately,
the majority of playgrounds
deny children with disabilities the opportunity for
exercise, entertainment,
and social interactions with
their peers.
